Quote from: sxdxca38 on October 04, 2023, 08:11:44 PMTwo things,

A) The mere fact that he is saying he doesn't care what sheep think, is telling me he absolutely does care, that's why he is saying it.

B) As many of you have already stated, the sheep, which consists of millions of Giant fans are paying your salary. All it takes is for the sheep to stop going to your games, and guess what? You won't be making any money, and you'll have to start making cheeseburgers and hot dogs like the rest of us.

Isn't his contract fully guaranteed or close to it?

Quote from: Jclayton92 on October 04, 2023, 02:50:04 PMBrightwell should be playing in the XFL not the NFL period. An elderly back in Breida has more game than Brightwell and yet here we are again.

I wonder if Brightwell could start for the XFL now lol 😂

Quote from: Trench on October 03, 2023, 03:39:24 PMTo anyone who questions if Danny Dump It Off doesn't lock o receiver and doesn't think it makes a difference, that quote begs to differ.

It was literally it in their gameplan, it's too obvious.

Teams have tape on us from last year, it worked when they didn't, now that dink and  dunk stuff ain't gonna work as much. Although it has looked worse this year too, the locking on seems a bit more obvious.

Daboll has a great plan last year to minimize and disguise DJs flaws. Teams are privy to it now so they are making DJ uncomfortable by taking that away.

This isn't Dodgeball we aren't gonna dodge, duck, dip dive and dodge our way to victory again when teams are ready for it. Changes are needed

Quote from: JT39 on October 03, 2023, 02:54:15 PMI am not sure I agree with that. I believe he is being told to read the defense and take what is given to him.

And this is a subject nobody is right or wrong about. However, he needs to be told to focus on players that can actually be made. Paris Cambell should never be an option unless he is the last option.

You may have missed these earlier sonlet me repost. How is this reading defense? How is this taking what is given to him?

As much as we want to call some of these players busts and disappointments, it may just be the QB holding some of those guys back at this point.

Quote from: T200 on October 03, 2023, 02:57:46 PMThen either doesn't know how to read defenses or he's just a check-down maverick.

The defense gave him open receivers. He rejected and offered up his own gift.

It's really as simple as this. If he read the defense he would have made the plays.

They knew it, they were ready, and we did exactly what they wanted.

Seahawks' Devon Witherspoon latest to rip Daniel Jones: 'We knew he liked to stare down his first target'

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/seahawks-devon-witherspoon-latest-to-rip-daniel-jones-we-knew-he-liked-to-stare-down-his-first-target/

Devon Witherspoon and the Seattle Seahawks defense had a dominant night against the New York Giants offense, specifically torturing Daniel Jones over the course of the game. Witherspoon had two sacks and an interception return for a touchdown -- the first Seahawks player to accomplish that feat in a game.

Witherspoon's pick-six for a score essentially ended the Giants comeback attempt late in the third quarter and caused a viral sideline moment between Jones and head coach Brian Daboll.

The Seahawks rookie cornerback easily read the route and took the ball 97 yards the other way for the score. Witherspoon admitted after the game it was easy to decipher where Jones was going, and it helped lead to a franchise-record 11 sacks.

"We knew he liked to stare down his first target," Witherspoon told NFL Network after the game. "We were just trusting the game plan the coaches laid out for us. He had his back turned and a lot of guys were winning the one-on-one matchups up front. Without them, we couldn't make the plays that we made."

Quote from: JT39 on October 03, 2023, 12:58:48 PMSomething that I was thinking about and I wonder if it has some validity to it...

Should Jones just concentrate on specific targets and basically force the ball to them? Lets be honest. Guys like Slayton, Campbell and Hodgins are nothing more than replaceable players. However Waller does have mismatch advantages, and Robinson has looked good when healthy. Instead of reading a defense and looking at the replaceable players - should his first read always be Waller or Robinson and if its not there -then go to the others?

The reason I'm saying this is Jones struggles with progressions at times, so that is taken away from him. And for as great as guys like Mahomes and Allen are - you know darn well theyre looking for Kelce and Diggs first then adjusting.

I just dont understand how a guy like Campbell is ever your first read. Now if there are 3 guys on a guy thats different, but maybe forcing it to your play makers will take less pressure off of him.

Essentially, he is already doing this

Quote from: MightyGiants on October 03, 2023, 12:59:55 PMEvery QB misses open receivers.  Without stats, it's hard to know if and how much of a problem it is

missing a wide open tight end for an easy TD, is that an issue yes or no?

If he keeps playing like he has been recently, his contract might make him the Kenny Golladay of Quarterbacks. Thankfully they can get out of it easier if he doesn't turn it around

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 03, 2023, 11:07:53 AMThe year is 2023 not 1985.  Offensive line play is down throughout the league.  There are plenty of teams with bad offensive line play that are still winning.  The game has changed and that type of regressive thinking is how the Giants have ended up being as consistently bad as they've been for years.

Schoen in two drafts has spent a Top 10 pick and a 2nd round pick on linemen.  There's only so much draft capital you can invest into one unit without it coming at the cost of other units.

Not to mention a 3rd and 6th on the UNC guys.

He hasn't not tried, maybe OL Coach isn't doing his job well, all these guys can't be busts
