Sorry Rich, no video's of him in game long action over at draft breakdown. Can't say I've seen any part of an East Carolina game for a few years so I can't comment

TIGHT ENDS

Truthfully, there are really only six prospects available who have the look of future starters and two of those guys are coming off some form of surgery! That said, each of them offers a skill-set that could be considered attractive. I have one player ranked in my top 10, two in my top 40, another in my top 64 and one in my top 100.

What do I think the Giants should do?

LOL, just realised I didn't do a preview at Center.

FWIW I see only one guy worth drafting in the first 3 rounds who I didn't already cover in the G preview. That one player is Mike Mayock favorourite, Brian Schwenke of California who I really don't like that much!

The Giants scored 17 points or less in five of their seven losses.  In today's NFL, you are not going to win many games scoring 17 points.

True, but what was the time of possession differential in those losses? Hard to score when you don't have the ball and the other teams defense is fresh all day whilst your own is worn out.

Rich, I wouldnt disagree. I just dont think that either Ogletree or Brown will be great MLB's. Sio Moore intrigues as I can see him playing that role with a bit of work.

I'll finish off the MLB preview when I go home in a few hours and will then knock out a mock draft, my top 100 and Giants draft board for the first two days so I can relax for a few hours before the fun begins!

Tyler Eifert would cause huge matchup problems, just like Gronkowski/Hernandez in NE. I might not like such a pick, but could understand the reasoning.

I'd have understood it, perhaps even welcomed it had we not gone out and signed Brandon Myers. Going with Eifert now would simply mean wasted free agent $'s at a time we're tight against the cap as it is

Due to our needs at those positions I'm not bothering with a full preview, just some thoughts on things as I see 'em on who migt go in the first three rounds and some loose rankings by position.

Ceri, Great write up.

I'd say that Dee Milliner, Alabama is the one player I do not want, but that point is probably moot. He'll be long gone by pick 19. Good luck to anyone who takes him. He has great measureables but I wasn't surprised Notre Dame went after him the way they did in the National Championship game. Unfortunately for them, completing passes out of bounds doesn't count, but for me it seemed the ND receivers had him beat - a lot. I would argue he played against the worst group of WRs and TEs in the SEC in a very long time. There are no AJ Greens, Julio Joneses, or Mike Wallaces in that group. He's a good corner but he's not a top ten pick in my opinion, although that's where he'll go.

I preferred Rhodes but now you have me thinking. Regardless, I see a top pick going toward another position. Any thoughts on the two from Cal? I am intrigued by Williams.

I can understand why you say that 'Bama but I think his length/speed/physicality in routes is a good reason why ND struggled to complete passes in bounds. He forces you real close to the sideline and uses it as his friend. I'd disagree that the SEC was totally bereft of WR talent but it was all in Tennessee and when the Crimson Tide played them he had a really good game. I have done my top 32 now and he sits at 10 overall. His lack of INT's for me is why he isn't doesn't rate higher.

What is your take on Shamarko Thomas?  I liked what I saw of him in games, but lets face it, the Big East has not been a football juggernaut.  And I am saying that as a Uconn alum.

I love thomas and being a big CUSE fan I have seen him for a few years. He is a hard rock hitting guy, and he is faster than all the rest of the listed safeties.

Good player but way too short for our physical prototype and the sheer number of concussions he's sustained already would have me take him off the draft board altogether if I were the Giants.

Ceri, what do you think of Tyrann Mathieu overall and potentially as a slot corner?

Loved him as a player at LSU but he comes across as being an immature kid who will find trouble again OTF soon enough.
