Quote from: katkavage on June 13, 2024, 09:13:29 PMThey can all thank DJ and Cousins for raising the bar. Or should I say the Giants and Falcons. It's the premier position in the game by a long shot and for now at least, it's cash in time.
More like, thank the owners for continuing to make the QB contracts nothing but a d!!ck measuring contest.

But again, the total value of the deal is meaningless.  Guaranteed money and the structure is what counts.  Jones really  is on the 2nd year of a 2 year deal with two 1-year team options.

Quote from: Messiah717 on June 02, 2024, 12:06:32 PMKakko is a bust and needs to go.  He's a second overall pick that's a third liner.  Chytil unfortunately will never be healthy and is like Lindros always one bad hit away.

Trouba is grossly overpaid and has become a defensive liability.  Miller needs someone to wake him up because he too big and talented to be such a non-factor.  Fox I'm tired of the yearly he must be playing hurt bull crap.

The big three of Mika, Panarin and Kreider are let's face it losers.  Always the same story with them in the playoffs where they can't be counted on.

I guess we should face it, McDavid is a loser?  He hasn't scored a goal yet and his team is down 3-0.  Is he a loser?

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on June 13, 2024, 05:14:49 PMGuess the plan is to run it all back next season and hope for a different result.
Signing a 23 year old RFA to their qualifying offer for 1 year tells you this?  Interesting.

Quote from: Messiah717 on June 11, 2024, 01:40:04 PMThey scored twelve goals in six games and were outplayed badly in pretty much every third period.  You're not winning like that.  What was two years ago better when Tampa pushed them out in six because they played two good games before collapsing?  What about the seven against Jersey last year after being up 2-0?  And sorry making an impactful move could mean moving a player or two you might not really want to.  If possible I'd move Kakko and Zibanejad for the right return.
"...For the right return...." I would move anyone.  You are saying Kakko is a bust and Zibanejad is a loser.  What do you call "the right return?"  Are you going to label McDavid a gutless loser when the Oilers lose this series?

Quote from: Messiah717 on June 11, 2024, 01:20:23 PMBro they played Florida nine times this year and couldn't manage a single regulation win.  That's not some fluke or accident.  Stop with the moral victories.  Not to mention this Florida team isn't going anywhere.  The Rangers have four top forwards I their 30s while Florida is younger.
who is talking about moral victories? You are saying they went quietly in ECF.  What the does that mean.  They lost in 6 games and all 6 could have gone either way.  You do not completely blow everything up over that.  You are acting like they were swept and outscored 22-3.

Quote from: MightyGiants on June 11, 2024, 01:24:12 PMLook, I am not doing back and forth.  You are free to believe no one on the Giants should be held accountable for results.  What I would ask is that you don't engage in dishonest and derogatory comments directed at your fellow fans who believe that accountability matters.
What did I say that was not dishonest?

Darius Slayton collided with a defender running his route and came up slow. Went off to side but appeared to be okay.
-WR Chase Cota left on a cart after landing on his shoulder attempting to catch deep ball

A better head trainer who is held accountable certainly could have prevented these injuries.

Quote from: MightyGiants on June 11, 2024, 01:20:14 PMNow you are attacking with a strawman argument.  You seem hell-bent and determined not to hold anyone on the Giants accountable.  Again, that approach is a guaranteed never to produce the sort of winning culture good teams have.   I just finished reading Mike Lombardi's football done right. What you are advocating is the opposite of how the NFL's best head coaches and GMs operated.
What are you talking about?  You loved when Judge had players running extra laps like they were in pee wee.  Why not have Barnes run extra laps?

Quote from: MightyGiants on June 11, 2024, 01:14:06 PMSorry, but I don't share your apparent belief that teams shouldn't hold anyone accountable.  In my opinion,  your approach is how a team has over a decade of futility (with a couple of exceptions).  Accountability is a key culture element.   So I couldn't disagree with your position strongly enough.
Ok, so for each injury Barnes should have to run a lap and climb down the tower to get his gloves.  Got it.  All Ball!

Quote from: Messiah717 on June 11, 2024, 01:09:17 PMBTW look at what Florida's top players have done in the playoffs.  That's how you end up winning a cup.
Barkov, Reinhardt, Tkachuck did very little against the Rangers.  Verehaege (sp?) was the only on of their top-4 guys to make significant contributions.  They lost 3 games by 1 goal, yet Kakko is a bust and they are all worthless.  Gotchya.

Quote from: MightyGiants on June 11, 2024, 01:05:35 PMSeriously? Are you going after fans who want to hold Barnes accountable for over a decade of being at or near the leading injured team?   Pretending that those holding Barnes accountable don't know what we are talking about is pretty insulting.   Some injuries are just that, luck. However, when you are consistently leading the league in injuries and time lost, you are clearly doing something wrong, regardless of your snarky remark.
Remember when you thought it was a good thing Judge was making players run laps to hold them accountable?  You actually compared it to some training class you took where the the instructor would throw your gloves off the tower?

Quote from: Messiah717 on June 11, 2024, 12:42:26 PMMy entire point has been changes are needed so now it's impossible to even know what your argument or complaint is.  Flip everything is a narrative you invented in your mind.
"Kakko is a bust....Chytil one hit away...... Trouba a liability..... Miller blah blah blah, tired of fox, panarin, Kreider, zibanejad are losers".  There were your words.  Go to 7-11 or Wawa and buy a clue already.

Celebrations?  Seriously. ::)

Can't wait to read people say it is Ronnie Barnes fault

Quote from: Messiah717 on June 11, 2024, 11:06:53 AMNow you just have no argument or logic so you make things up.  When did I ever say dump those other players?  I also never said go dump the entire team.  That said anyone thinking nothing should change or be shaken up but thinks there will be a different result is by definition insane.  This again has the looks of the Lundqvist years.  A team carried by the goalie who then wastes his career in one city with no championships to show for it.  You can take it back to 2012 where since then they have five ECF appearances but not one appearance in the finals.  That's pretty hard to do but regardless it proves one thing.  They have never been good enough.

But still here in the year 2024 fans like yourself think it's best to just keep going forward with the same old same old.  The Panthers aren't running rough shot to the cup after a previous year finals appearance by mistake.  They were willing to make changes and trade off a guy who was coming off a 115 point season.
When did I say they should not make changes?  If you think they are going to flip everything, you are nuts.  If you think that is the answer to just dump players then I am glad you have absolutely no say in what will happen with this team.

Quote from: Trench on June 10, 2024, 02:57:55 PMAgree with this. Everything about this team is linked to the QB performance
And, the QB will be awful if the OLine doesn't do their job.
