Ceri, these writeups - as always - are phenomenal. Thanks so much for taking the time to share them with us.

Like you, I am somewhat intrigued by Damontre Moore. Do you think it's possible he could be sitting there in the second round when we pick? I'd grab him in a second at that spot.

I don't think there's any way he'll be there at 49. if he does slip out of the 1st round having had time to re-evaluate their boards overnight I can't imagine he'll make it past the Jags or Raiders at the very top of the 2nd round. That said, were he on the board at 19 and we to get an offer to trade down there is a decent chance he'd be there for us lower down with only Indianapolis, Denver and maybe Atlanta the only landing spots left in the round.

As usual there is a some top end talent with depth lasting into the third day of the draft. It is likely to produce future starters fitting into all kinds of defensive schemes and have different players appealing to different teams for different reasons. I have one ranked in my top 10, two more in my top 20, one in the late 1st round and three in the 2nd round.

What do I think the Giants should do?
Osi Umenyiora is gone and Justin Tuck got banged up and regressed again really only showing up for his annual obliteration of the 49ers. To make matters worse the Giants kept putting their best DE Jason Pierre-Paul on the inside of the NASCAR package making it easy to opponents to double team him with two linemen. JPP also came to camp overweight and never took advantage of his one-on-one opportunities outside in the same way he had previously. Depth is non-existent - none of Adrian Tracy, Justin Trattou, Adewale Ojomo are worthy of a roster spot let alone place in the rotation.

With Tuck in the final year of his contract and his durability an issue the Giants have three options: 1) Draft a DE high they believe can contribute immediately; 2) move starting SLB Matthias Kiwanuka up full-time to the line to play the position he was actually drafted for; 3) do both and hope like hell they can back-fill the hole created at SLB.

No love for Marcus Lattimore? As someone to stash on IR this year and then see what he is in 2014? Or do you think his knee injury makes him too much of a risk?

Sadly I think he'll have a short, painful career. I loved him from his first game as a true freshman when he looked NFL ready on his debut but he's blown out both ACL's the past two years. He's a terrific player.

You know just how good a person he is from the fact Steve Spurrier was almost in tears in the press conference after Lattimore  suffered what I would have to say was the most gruesome leg injury I've ever seen that didn't include a broken bone. Not like Spurrier to be emotional... Seemingly based on his receiving cheers for doing virtually nothing at his Pro Day the NFL concurs with Spurrier.  I really hope he returns but I won't bank on it.

If a WR is the selection Jeffrey from South Carolina would be an interesting choice.

Wouldn't it just! I think he's terrific but sat on the fence a little with my ranking (33rd overall - I'll put the whole top 100 up later). That's solely because of his junior year and the questions about his work ethic. Put it this way, if he had done the things he did as a sophomore as a junior as well teams wouldn't be looking at him and wondering whether they are gonna get lucky at the top of the 2nd round they'd have been talking about how they could get him in the top 10...

Ceri,

Why would you want Coples if he has desire, maturity and character issues.   That trifecta has all the makings of a bust.  In the NFL you don't reach the QB if you lack desire.   Giving a player lacking in maturity millions of dollars rarely works out well.  Finally why gamble on character issues with a first round pick?

Coples also just happens to be the most destructive pass rusher in the draft and the sort of player who could become All-Pro if focused on his game. I like to think the Giants have a good coaching staff - they're all teachers who develop talent - and that added to the peer pressure from within the locker room would sort his head out and make him an absolute 'steal' at 32.

With only the 1st round today waiting 32 picks for the Giants to select will be agonizing and it could be even more so if, with a number of similarly rated players on the board, they get a good offer to trade out of the round altogether whilst they are

TE Preview

The talent available
This has to be the weakest position in the draft by far as not only are there few top end talents, there are actually very few players available that even merit being drafted. Needless to say this preview didn't take very long to write!

What do I think the Giants should do?
The Giants lost both starting TE Jake Ballard and back-up Travis Beckum to torn ACL

LB Preview

The talent available
I covered most of the top OLB prospects in the DE/Joker preview a coupe of days ago so those in this preview will predominantly be undersized players who project solely to WLB in the 4-3 scheme, a few MLB

(Sorry to go off topic here guys)

Ceri, are you watching the draft on NFL.com?

Reason I ask is that I found out today it looks like ESPN America are not showing it on TV here. Really, really annoyed!!

Will try to but more often than not its impossible to get it to work due to heavy traffic on the site. Normally I'll find a place where NFL Network is shown so I can watch that on-line instead.
