Quote from: LennG on December 22, 2023, 09:41:19 PMGosh Ric, I thought I was the only one needing all this medical care. It does sound scary since you are up to your ears with shots et al. I forgot what that drug is for COVID that you can take to help alleviate the symptoms and help in the recovery. You need to take it something like 5 days after the symptoms appear. Have you considered that?

As for the vitamin D, no I don't take it and really never heard much about this. Is this something new? Does sound like something I would be interested in if it is a proven thing.

anyway, try to make yourself as comfortable as possible and feel better soon. Plenty of football this weekend to help you keep busy.

Quote from: Bill Brown on December 23, 2023, 05:39:32 AMI am a believer in vitamin D. Been taking 4k a day for several years thanks to Ed posting about it several years ago and since taking it I have had no lung issues with colds, flu etc. Having been diagnosed with COPD several years ago taking care of my lungs is very important and taking vitamin D is definitely part of that. This winter I am struggling taking 5000 a day.

Bill
It's not safe to take 5000 a day so watch it in combination with any multivitamin you take. Google or ask your doctor about taking more than 4000.

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on December 22, 2023, 07:25:08 PMThanks (the other) Steve. I've isolated myself from my mother and have my daughter and older brother looking after her. I'm holed up with nothing to do but play on the computer, binge-watch TV, and lay in the jacuzzi
Vitamin D, up to 4000 a day.

McGaughey was quoted:

"I tell people this all the time: once you get on the kicker train, the destination is unknown. So, when you're on that train that's been steady, and you know the destination, you know exactly where you're going, you like to ride on that train. But when you get one you really don't know, you think you know, but you really don't know until you know, you could be anywhere. You can look up and you could be halfway across the world before you find another one. That kicker train is dangerous. It can take you anywhere."

And I have no clue WTF he's talking about. Boop, Boop, Boop! Home Planet, Pluto.

Damn man. Have your mom wear a wask when you're near her. It's so odd how you got it living in a sub populated area. Saw a Dr. Today and she said that RSV has put a lot of people in the hospital and at her office. The new variant is at the initial stages since Thanksgiving.

Feel better and get well.

Quote from: TONKA56 on December 22, 2023, 02:18:50 PMWay off topic, but in hindsight and in light the video we discussed recently, it was probably a bad move to dismiss Pat Flaherty to begin with.
Pat has excellent but I think he's retired. What did you think of Colombo?

It's hard to say. The injuries set him back a great deal. Also, his Coach doesn't seem to be able to develop Ezeudu, Peart, McKeathan and JMS either. He's going to get another crack at it according to Schoen. So even the men who work with him every day don't know.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on December 22, 2023, 12:34:08 PMNot to throw fuel on the fire but analytically Slayton was a top 15 Wr last year. He was easily top 15 in every metric above replacement. So while the actual production isn't there, because our Qbs are absolutely horrible, our Wrs weren't the issue last year and likely aren't this year. Wandale, Hodgins, Slayton, and our other slot wr last year all ranked really well above replacement. It's why the Jones doesn't have weapons theory that floated around last season was so baffling, Jones has weapons, he just couldn't ever get it to them.

I remember @Ed Vette and I brought it up several times last year and he even provided the graphs/stats showing that our Wrs were doing really well and that they weren't the issue.

If we had an actual Qb Slayton easily goes for a 1,000 + and Hyatt is ROTY talks, while Wandale would have had a really nice comeback story.
I'm concerned for Hyatt. He may wind up burning some years here.

Quote from: TONKA56 on December 22, 2023, 09:06:05 AMIf the Giants want to move on from Barkley they should have already made preparations to do so. I don't understand this team's approach to the running back position in the slightest.
He may want to move on from the Giants. They may come to an agreement. I don't know how that would work but he hinted.

Quote from: Stringer Bell on December 22, 2023, 09:07:01 AMIt's quite comical to see someone say Slayton is a consistent 1,500-yard WR with a better QB and then have them call other people's opinions nuts. LOL
It is, isn't it.  =))
