Quote from: MightyGiants on December 20, 2023, 03:09:33 PMI don't gamble and I am not even sure what "lay the 12" means.

Give the 12 points, meaning take the Eagles.

If you gamble, lay the 12.

Quote from: LennG on December 20, 2023, 08:35:21 AMLawrence, in his years with Jax has elevated their play to be a playoff contender each year. What has Jones elevated in his years here?

His leg after the operation/during rehab, and the fans' angst.

Maybe there were not many good OL coaches available when Daboll was hired.

The eye test is all I need to know that Lawrence is quite the better QB.

We really need to get ahead of the Bears own pick for picking/trading purposes.

The 2023 value of the Giants is 6.8 Billion. John share is half that. No need to be conservative, and safe with choices.

Quote from: Ed Vette on December 18, 2023, 07:24:50 PMBorn 50 years too late.

Didn't know his history, however was he supposed to let him catch the pass? That's right born too late. The way the NFL is today one half to most of the defensive players in the HOF would be suspended. We never would have known how great LT, and Ronnie Lott were. There's a DB on Denver who is suspended, in a meeting with Goodell he was told that DB's are responsible for receivers' protection and welfare. Football is a COLLISION, and CONTACT sport. How is a DB supposed to play PROPER pass defense with the "go easy on Johnny" and the way they call PI? Fine you don't want blow up hits then let DB's have some freedom of contact in pass coverage. I'm waiting for the time when some team just doesn't give a crap anymore, and blows up any receiver on a crossing pattern(hopefully an Eagle).

Let's throw a a little gasoline on the pyre. I've been a fan since 1965. Since then their record is 424-481 with 5 ties. That's a 46% winning percentage. They have been a historically losing franchise. I would like to see a large group of us in a meeting with John Mara, Pat Hanlon, Schoen and Daboll. Schoen and Daboll I would leave alone. They are their to listen and observe. However I'd RIP into Mara, and Hanlon starting with those statistics, then adding the financial rip-off they put on the fans in attendance(ticket price, seat license, parking, food, merchandise) while putting forth a consistently inferior product. Despite the four trophies numbers don't lie. Why Hanlon? I can't stand people that paint a rosy picture, it's sunny during a blizzard, while knowing the truth. I know it's PR, but you know what you can do with it. I'd start it like this. John, every one in this room has at least one thing in common, we love the Giants. Call it a family, so this is a family dinner. Then I'd RIP into them with the above. At the end I'd ask John to pass the mashed potatoes.

Where do you think we will be picking at 5-12?

I've been thinking about the following for several weeks. Together with the advent of the Tush Push, there has been a great deal of pushing the pile sometimes for 5-10 yards before the RB is finally stopped both in College and pros. A Center, 4 Sumo wrestlers make up the line, a blocking fullback in the style of Carthon, and a big running back. Just maul, and smash your way down the field. Giant Football is smashmouth. That's the ultimate smashmouth. Parts of American Football seem to be taking on the characteristics of Rugby, and or Australian Rules Football. B/t/w in those two games few seem to get hurt at scrum time. How much fun would we all have watching the Eagles, and Pokes get ground into ground beef. Think how loud our stadium would be.

I've been a die hard Giant fan since 1965(9 yrs old). There has not been one minute since then that I have not hated the Cowboys, and everything associated with their franchise cheerleaders notwithstanding. Their fans, uniforms, FO, soda vendors, and the players themselves, despite the humanity, just because they wear the uniform. Some to most of them I'm sure are decent people, not when they wear the uniform. America's Team my a$$. Every play especially when they play the iggles I want to see end up like an Addam's Family trainwreck. How about then Cowboy pom poms!!

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Has our OL had a metamorphosis?
December 13, 2023, 03:09:59 PM
To answer the thread's question, from what, bad to less bad? As mentioned they need three new starters. I watch SB take a handoff, and almost immediately say to no one in particular give the effing guy a chance. There are times in pass protection where you would think several of the 5 are wearing tutus. The sun rises in the East, and bad teams have bad OL's, good teams have good OL's.

Can there be a scenario where "Little Bill" comes HOME?
#195
I'm sure that the FO will have/already had a Saquon session discussing and laying out alternatives how to best use the $12MM asset coupled with increased on field production. If they feel the best way is to stay with SB then it's one more year, if not then it will be interesting to see what alternative(s) they come up with. I'm leaning towards the latter.
