LOL. I'm thanking my lucky stars for this news. Yet another red flag on this guy all but assures me that the Giants WON'T be selecting him in the 1st round

Hi Dan,
            My hope is always that the Giants draft someone I have ranked at least 5 slots higher than where they pick at so that (in my mind at least) they get 'value'.

I do like David, but he won;t rate amongst my top 27 prospects and therefore I don't think his selection would offer any value whatsoever if taken at 32.

There is very good depth at Guard this year with future starters likely to be taken well into the mid rounds and several very good prospects available. You could go so far as to say there is a veritable smorgasbord of talent to suit both zone blocking and power schemes.

The Giants seemingly have a prototype for the position of a no taller than 6

Correct. I see Osemele as the type of player who if played at RT could get his QB killed. Hopefully he''ll get drafted by Philadelphia and be played there then

Depends on who is available and with what grade. If for instance we have 5 we like with similar grades available at 32 why wouldn't we go down a few spots into the top of the 2nd knowing we're still likely to have a choice between at least 3 of them if dropping 5 spots?

If however we have five we like and one has a far higher grade we take them and forget about trades.

Similarly, if we only have two guys we like with similar 1st round grades we pick one because the odds are poor on us getting either if we trade out of the 1st round altogether - we know what the team needs are of those sitting behind us so we'll have a fair idea whether they will take one of the guys we like if we pass them up to drop down.

I don't know about 'full value' with Tannehill just that he has lots of 'potential' and that will get him drafted high. My board is pretty much a combo of where I rank players within their position group plus a consensus of other sites and hints from NFL teams as to where they think he'll go. For instance, the 4th ranked QB on my list, Kirk Cousins, I think will be a total bust - he's just not very good at all - but I'm sure someone will take him in the early-mid 2nd round regardless simply because he's a QB. Still, at least it pushes down another good player to us at the end of the 2nd round
