I was just watching the movie:

Wil Anderson THE COWBOYS

Yeah, I think it was on TCM last night.

Once again, after my 3 regular words I had only 2 letters, but, by a stroke of good luck and good placement of the remaining letters, I was able to get it in 5. (after a whole lot of trying non words)

seems the weekend words tend to be a bit tougher.

Jim

I kind of figured you would get most of them if Bill hadn't beaten you to it.  So what's left

I think #15 and #19

Robert Marmaduke Hightower

John Breen

Both not Wayne's biggest movies, but both were respectable..

#15 Wayne stars with 2 others and a baby  ( a give-a-way)

#19--Played a frontiersman from a certain state.

So let me throw 3 more out there that were on my list--a bit tougher so I initially left them off

1--Will Anderson

2--Major Dan Kirby

3--Jim Gordon

The last 3 I have no recollection.

Bill

WOW Bill, way to go.

See what you can do with Jim's Gary Cooper list. We only got about 1/2 of them.

This is fun having the movie actor and figuring out his movies by the roles he/she plays.

So let's continue with John Wayne.

I know he made a huge amount of movies before he really became a star so I am not even going there, trying to stay with movies I would hope most people have seen and will remember his character. Again, all the movies were very well known and their characters were memorable.

1--Rooster Cogburn  (If you don't know this forget the rest) (Really 2 movies with the same character, but I'm looking for the main one)

2--The Ringo Kid (see #1)

3--Tom Doniphon

4--Lt Col Benjamin Vandervoort

5--John Elder

6--General William Tecumseh Sherman

7--Capt Nathan Brittles

8--Sean Thornton

9--Hondo Lane

10--Ethan Edwards

11--John T Chance

12---Davy Crockett

13--Thomas Dunson

14--Capt Kirby York

15--Robert Marmaduke Hightower

16--Sgt John Stryker

17--Lt Col Kirby Yorke

18--Ricklin

19--John Breen

20--Col Joseph Madden

Tough one today. I thought my streak was over as I was on line 6 and still only 3 letters. I spent about 10 minutes trying to rearrange them and finally saw an opening and got it in 6.

You'd like him in "My Favorite Year."  It's a terrific movie, especially if you're from New York.  Give it a shot.

I won't like it, I just don't like him.
