Honestly wouldnt have expected more than a 4th. this is a great deal for us. i think we have a good enough stable of tackles to make up for this.

Quote from: bamagiantfan on October 30, 2023, 07:35:16 AMI think Daboll waited until the right time to take a risk, and Gano missed the FG to put them up 6, which was a killer. The off sides by Thibodeaux was a killer. The holding penalty in overtime was a killer. The pass interference in overtime was a killer.

The players made Daboll look bad, not the other way around.

i think they are feeding off each other. at the end of the day, if our pro bowl kicker makes a 35y fg, we win.

our receivers are truly insufferable. week after week after week not a single one of them is ever a hero.

Quote from: beaugestus on October 30, 2023, 12:53:32 PMI wouldn't get too excited with KT's performance look who was opposite from him. IMO, it wouldn't be surprised if Benton is not offered a contract by the Jets and is out of the league in the near future.

I kinda wanted him over thomas. his size/speed was INSANE. but i knew guys that big cant stay healthy or eat themselves out of the league. we made the right choice.

He single-handedly kept us in the game.

i forgot to mention he also has the most yards lost due to sack in the league.

Quote from: katkavage on October 30, 2023, 09:52:14 AMBarkley is a stud. A great running back. A great Giant. But if offered a third round pick, I would trade him. It's time to make those very hard sacrifices.

have to agree. we might be truly unwatchable for the rest of the year if it happens. but theres also no benefit of keeping him the route we are going. its another lost season.

Big Blue Huddle / Kayvon vs jets

that was the kind of game we have been waiting for. dude was EVERYWHERE. 3 tfl, 3 sacks. 9 total tackles. disruptive all game long. now has 8.5 sacks in 8 games. only problem is he got a little too hungry when he went offsides. contributed to the loss. whatever. we did everything we could to lose that game so im not gonna put it on him. but if he keeps playing like this we have a very dangerous weapon. imagine we had any sort of threat on the other side?

Quote from: Giant Jim on October 30, 2023, 10:10:11 AMReally need to see him back with Thomas and Neal to evaluate for the rest of the season.

id rather stick with tyre. neal is awful.

i said earlier this week, the plan was for jones to sit so tyrod can look bad against a good d, so that jones can be inserted again without so much controversy. is it that big a coincidence jones is cleared less than 24 hours after game day? come on.

Quote from: andrew_nyGiants on October 30, 2023, 07:57:47 AMI think there were a few reasons Daboll held back with the kid.

1) it's a good bet he had no reps all week
2) inexperience with an OL that was overmatched in pass pro.
3) the driving rain by the time he went in.

I'm not saying DeVito is any good, I'm just saying we still haven't seen what he is.

it would be malpractice to not have had him take any reps all week, considering he was the backup. this is another coaching decision that is driving me nuts. you had a 50% waller with bellinger as the only other te. in a game you KNEW was gonna be run heavy. you had the backup qb so unprepared you didnt even let him throw past the LOS. I have never seen anything like it.

Quote from: spiderblue43 on October 29, 2023, 04:44:36 PMDaboll is earning a new name...Dumbo. This was a complete failure of resolve to win. This season is a disgrace and I hope they are sellers.

Dumbo should have gone for it late..then kickoff instead of having DeVito submit. As bad as Judge ever was.

DUMBO is leading this parade..obviously scared of mice too.
Quote from: madbadger on October 29, 2023, 04:35:50 PMDaboll is spineless. You have an injured kicker and you refuse to let your quarterback throw the ball. Just how exactly did he plan to win.

One of the guys on FAN called daboll a coward... rather said he is coaching cowardly, which i agreed with then, and agree with now. lot of fans got very defensive about it, but its SO true right now. I get devito is a 3rd string rookie. but jesus. give the kid a freaking chance. that strategy of throwing to barkley on the sideline 3 plays in a row... just take a knee at that point. unreal. the biggest problem is when he does make a gutsy call.. it still doesnt work. nothing is going right for him or the team right now.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Offseason Priorities Now

same as always. Oline. Pass rusher. WR. at this point we need to draft a qb whether its a future starter or a solid backup. tyrod is old and fragile. apparently they have 0 trust in devito. unless gano gets it together we are gonna need a new kicker. probably another TE as waller seems like he's going to be a short term option. we arent giving bellinger any type of chance. and him being the only TE option yesterday when waller was VERY questionable... dont get me started.

Quote from: katkavage on October 29, 2023, 07:30:48 PMYeah, DeVito is not the future. That much was immediately obvious.

they didnt even give him a chance

I think of all the 2 year coaches we have had recently, he's probably the best of em. he's having a crap year. no doubt about it. but i think he's learning how to survive in the nfl. he's not doing a great job of it right now, but if he can learn from it and not make the same mistakes twice, i can let it go. but if they decided to go another direction right now, i wouldnt be upset. hes like, D- territory right now.

Just FOUR players from the first round of this class are still in the NFL 😳

to be fair some of these guys played well for some periods of time. 10 years is a long time in the nfl. injuries pile up. not saying thats the case with all these guys, some flat out sucked. just for s&g, how many players from the 12 draft are still playing? i counted 11 technically, with most being out of work free agents.

but yeah, it was a bad draft.
