Williams struggled but even in his worst game, you saw glimpses of things other QBs can't do.

And I'll continue to say this... Lincoln Riley hurts a QBs development. His play calling last night was atrocious.

Williams and Maye are clearly tier 1. Everyone else is fighting to be the third QB off the board.

This has been a very disappointing day of football.

The Washington gsme was exciting but I thought it was poorly coached and the QBs weren't all that cracked up to be.

Pac 12 continues to be an utter joke.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on October 14, 2023, 09:05:25 PMLots of time left. If anyone can pull the comeback it's Caleb Williams.

That said he looks off tonight.

He's been bad but the play calling has been atrocious. Two runs under a minute to go from midfield?

Not one throw past the LOS inside the 10? Weird stuff.

3 INTs for Caleb Williams in the first half.

This loaded QB class might be a little light in the pants...

The top end QBs are struggling today. Caleb Williams looks mortal against a good defense. Go figure...

If we take Bo Nix at any point in the draft... Schoen should be fired. There's no worse big game QB in college football.

38-10 Bills

Lets be honest, we dont have a chance. Their passing game will eat us alive. And if Rosseau and Miller play - it will be a race to see who gets the most sacks. Oh, and Ed Oliver isnt too shabby either.

Quote from: H-Town G-Fan on October 10, 2023, 07:35:58 PMThat pick went to Chicago as part of the trade up for Bryce Young. Not out of the realm of possibility Chicago moves on from Fields. But if they keep him, that pick has to be auctioned off to the highest bidder given the demand there may be to get Caleb Williams.

Whoops I forgot about that was the trade.

Chicago and Arizona might have two top 10 picks. Lot of ammo to get what they need.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on October 10, 2023, 07:21:45 PMWhoops, my mistake, you're absolutely right. They're probably the only team I would say has been worse than us this year.

Panthers would trade out of 1. There's no way they're taking a QB right after they just took a QB first overall.

The best bet is Arizona going after the first pick. They have the Texans first round pick as well I believe. So if Texans can off slide - they can have two very high picks.

Quote from: madbadger on October 10, 2023, 06:26:45 PMA lot of the college season left to go but in addition to those mentioned you have Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy, Quinn Ewers, Jayden Daniels, Dillon Gabriel and Jordan Travis. All of them have the physical tools and production to merit a first round grade. If all of them come out a couple will still be on the board at the beginning of the second round.

I am not a Gabriel fan. He's like a 5-6 rounder. Slow, slow release, and not strong enough arm.

Travis scares me because of guilt and injury history. McDaniels is fair - probably a 3-4 round grade on him.

The 5 I listed I believe have superior traits that correlate to the NFL a little bit better.

But I am not opposed to some of the guys you mentioned in middle-late rounds as prospects

Don't get too high on the PAC 12 QBs out Williams. Horrible defensive division. Air raid offenses. Barely hit. And nix and pennix are in their 5th and 6th years already.

Here's my top 5

Williams
Maye
McCarthy
Leonard
Ewers

Well thought out post. Lot to digest there.

I will say this... QBs are at their best when the following happens.

1. They are comfortable.
2. They get into a rhythm.
3. They have confidence.
4. They trust those surrounding them.

Does this mean Jones has the tools to take us far? Maybe, but probably not. But when those things waver or are lost - it's a lost cause no matter if it's Mike Glennon or Tom Brady.

Quote from: T200 on October 10, 2023, 11:42:56 AMFirst, I don't call them bashers. Here's what I consider a basher: someone who just trashes Jones for no reason and sees no good in him. I don't think we have any one on this site that feels that way.

What's the difference in saying Jones needs a true #1 receiver versus Jones needs elite talent around him?

Cause they are literally accusing posters of saying something we never said.

It's the mere definition of being dishonest.

Quote from: T200 on October 10, 2023, 11:38:31 AMWhat is it that you want me to see?

Look - I get it. Rambo has a few canned statements about Jones that he copies and pastes in just about every thread. You know it's coming, just like Jones checking down instead of hitting an open receiver. It is what it is.

As has already been pointed out: 1) he's not bashing Jones. If anything, we're taking more abuse having to read the same thing in every thread. But saying he's severely criticizing our QB is not correct. He's just stuck on repeating it. 2) He can be blocked.

It's more than just him...

T200,

What do you call the Jones consistent bashers who claim posters thst Jones needs "elite" talent in order for him to be successful - when not one poster has ever made this claim?

I know at least 4 posters who made this claim directly at me. That's why I am using the ignore posters.

These posters are the exact definition of posting "intellectually dishonesty".
