The 'Hustler' was a great movie and it was made better by a magnificent performance by Ralph Kramden--NO, only kidding, Jackie Gleason was the best and completely off character for him.

great job Lou. I thought I'd be a bit tricky with 2 from the same movie, but both were just memorable characters. 

Take another look at the 3 you didn't get. I know you've seen the movies, all from major movies.

I know you so well, I can see why you may not have liked this movie, but it is great if not for Denzel's performance alone.

Maybe the best movie character--Atticus Finch--Gregory Peck--add to that his characters in 12 O'Clock High, Gentleman's Agreement, Jimmy Ringo in the Gunfighter, Captain Ahab in Moby Dick, and the list can go on.

And if we are just talking characters, how about Norman Bates

Funny, but since I really started getting into series, I can't watch one episode a week anymore. Even shows that I like that are on once a week, I DVR them and watch when I get maybe 4 shows so I can really get into a series and see if I really want to continue. If I watch a series that drops once a week and it doesn't pique my interest right away, I may watch some other episodes, but eventually, I'll quit.
I am doing that with TWD right now and I also watch Survivor which I have about 4 episodes in so I might start to watch it.

I have seen it a couple of times. Denzel is way off character here as a real sleazy cop, but he is terrific in the part.
I enjoyed the movie very much and really should rewatch it.
Similar to Henry Fonda playing the real bad guy in Once Upon A Time In The West, here we have perennial good guy Denzel really going off character.

Again I liked it a lot.

For a time, I wouldn't miss anything he was in, just fun movies, even the ridiculous Armaggenden, How great was he in Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense and Tears of the Sun.

I wish him the best in the fight for his health.
