Quote from: umassgrad on November 12, 2023, 05:26:15 PMThe offense sucks but let's be honest the Boys should be up 21-0. We will end up giving up 500 yards of offense unless they pull the starters when we are down by 30 in the 3rd quarter.
They won't do that, they'll want to grind us.

:ok:
LOL I have a long memory.
I dont care if he's the second coming of Lomdardi, a coach who does what he did is not of sufficient character for us.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 12, 2023, 04:45:24 PMI didn't hate the play calls. I think most coaches would have done that. Admittedly Dallas was looking for the run all the way there. I think the idea was to get 2 or 3 yards, not zero haha. At least he didn't try to run it again on third down.
A single, quick release, play action on one or two wouldn't have hurt.
I get they're trying to get the kid comfortable but we're going backwards again this drive.

Quote from: umassgrad on November 12, 2023, 04:41:14 PMPlay calling sucks, how about a play action on first down.
Daboll's balls have shrunk.
I get protecting the kid but the run plays on one and two......Jaysus.

Any given Sunday.

I don't know enough of the guy or the incident to comment meaningfully.
Generally, I have no issue with sports people showing emotion.
I've cried plenty times watching the Giants, usually after a win.

What concerns me about this specific scenario is, this guy is the team leader.
After a tough loss, his thought should be about his teammates and how they are.

"Heads up guys, that was a great effort but we came up short, we go again next week." Or something along those lines.

Now, I say that without knowing everything, but while it's OK to be emotional, as a leader his first duty is to his teammates.

Quote from: AZGiantFan on November 10, 2023, 03:37:52 PMPerhaps I'm a bandwagon fan, but I look at it more like they have to EARN my attention.  There is no other area in life where I would continue to buy a mediocre to bad product, so why should I do that in sports?  I've given the Giants a free pass for too many years.  If that makes me an inferior fan then so be it.  Like many here I am deep into the back nine of life and I'm more concerned with my quality of life than proving I can suffer like a true fan.

I don't think you can remotely compare team fandom to real life scenarios, such as repeatedly investing in bad products.
Logic goes out the window when it comes to your team.
I'll be watching this Sunday, probably not having a good time, probably pretty miserable.
But I'll do it.
And I'll do it again.....and again.
Why?
There's no answer that makes sense on any logical level.
I can only say, because they're my team.

Maybe, trying to be logical, it's because the "No good......wide right" and "17-14 is the final, believe it and it will happen" moments feel that much sweeter because of all the crap Sundays we endure in between.
