I love DC cliches.."we're gonna get after the passer".."be aggressive".."create big plays".

:what: Not Rod Rust's read and react approach?

Schoen's take on DJ is boilerplate..of course. Jones will be the starter in all likelihood with his deal when he is ready. Now, keeping the job may be something entirely different.

Glowinski and Waller are easy slices. As it shows, one is mediocre and one is medical.

Waller was the rave of camp..then decamped most of the year..as his recent history showed again. :computer:

How many times have we heard this...qbs moving way..way up in the draft. JJ has that buzz. As Frank Romano said ..Holy Crap". See JJ...with the 8th pick? Yipes.

I've seen him and he does playmaking stuff. But..long way to go in terms heading an offense. He also has some moxie and toughness. Rattler will rattle some draft cagers taken too early, I suspect.

He's clearly an NFL prospect to develop  right now. That's all.

He's a bargain for a contender probably. But..he is what he is..good back..good teammate..not the future. A whimsical choice that couldn't be jacket ready, touched from God.

Philly grinded all game and outplayed the Rangerzz..but this squad has poise and powered through.

The opening faceoffs should now have a boxing bell with Rempe. :hurt:

Whatever the mess is in Cheesesteak Ville..they still have Howie to fix it. But I was floored that he didn't 86 Sirianni.

They have a clown fan boy as their supposed leader. Why? Does he have some leverage?

No problem with him sans an agent with a rookie deal, which is already slotted. He's very likely to be the Bears' qb, so they'll have to deal his "maturity" issues, not our heroes.

Much like Burrow; he really developed as a portal phenom in his last year. His athletic ability is just electric and made quality defenders in the SEC look dumbfounded.

He has the most star potential of the Qbs coming out to me. My favorite player along with Brock Bowers.

Dave,

With you on DJ all the way. Some of the logic for him is like putting lipstick on a pig. And that pork pie we have to pass on.

Based on his draft projection (1st round) and the fact he played in a NFL style offense, plus Harbaugh leaving, he made the right choice declaring in my book.

Also, many Qbs get upward movement towards the draft and JJ will too. Now it's a crap shoot with the team that picks him; can they maximize his ability? But he will have interest.

Quote from: kartanoman on February 15, 2024, 07:01:28 PMGordon "Gordie" Bell, Willie Spencer and Larry Watkins, not to mention Doug Kotar and Larry Csonka, making up the Giants' backfield of 1977.

No Ernie Wheelwright, Junior Coffey from the 60's? Johnny Roland? Marsh White? Joe Orduna? Billy Taylor? Dan Doornik? Heh.

Bottom Line: Daboll and Schoen have to look ahead. Jones is hardly a player to count on saving your tenure. I'm fairly confident that they are well aware of that.

How they do it is key and TBD.
