Funny how the pros and announcers can see the issue, yet others are blinded by their own Bias.

I stated just recently, his passes are rushed based on the pressure he gets (internal clock speeds up) and the only thing he can do is get rid of it asap. If not he will get injured & unfortunately he did. And even TT who was in for a short while was getting nailed.

We will be last years 49ers revolving QBs. Kudos to the FO & the people who think that the oline is just fine- lmao.. JB looks worse than DJ with a bad oline as well, but JB gets a pass & DJ gets the blame. Any great qb will look bad if their oline stinks. This oline will probably be historically bad. And they still haven't started the same 5 from week 1 till this point.

This!

W/o knowing the history, exam results and diagnostic imaging u generally are throwing darts.

They need their 5 mins too. Pathetic really!

Quote from: LennG on October 07, 2023, 12:26:28 PMWhy does a thread like this not surprise me? At the beginning of the week, when the venom for Jones and many others was running rampant, the Daniel Jones supporters were nowhere to be seen, But now, a week has passed and the internet is scoured to find something that still supports their faith in him. And the beat just goes on.
I have always and will always support & want the best for the team before any player. Because the team stays, the players eventually leave/retire.

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 07, 2023, 09:58:08 AMCome back when Daniel Jones puts up a full regular season that Burrow has put up in each of the last two seasons then we can talk about comparing him to Burrow.  The QB's Jones should be compared to are players like Alex Smith, Geno Smith, Jimmy Garoppolo and Derek Carr.  That's the level he's on until proven otherwise.
You compared him, so thanks. You compare them with similar situations. Except JB has a top #1 wr and also a #2 & his line has been bad, but not as bad as the Giants.

Who knows, maybe when or if they fix the line and DJ isn't shellshocked by then; then if he plays as he has then I'm all onboard moving on. It's called giving the guy a fair chance and unlike many people, putting things into context.

I want to win as bad as anyone, but I am not fickle as many are and I observe & use context. If I felt DJ was a problem while the oline was at least average then I'd want him gone like I did with Brown, Graham and Kannel where I was correct on them early on as I was with KC & Eli being good for us. I think DJ can be good if given a reasonable opportunity. If not then I'd be wrong & want him gone. But with how bad both our oline & wrs are atm, that is far from doing justice with any semblance of a fair assessment.

His rookie year he can hit any throw. Last year he showed he can be accurate with the giants wrs having if not the worst separation vs defenders than one of the worst. So he can hit any shot & be accurate. Yet the line greatly regressed even from last year. Partially injuries, partially talent.

So comeback to me when our oline and wr core isn't dead last in ratings. Thanks!

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 06, 2023, 02:10:09 PMQB's like Burrow and Herbert have no issue sitting in the pocket stepping into throws taking a hit while making plays.  Seems like that leaves a QB just as vulnerable as it does taking off and running where you are open to taking hits. No?
I guess you missed how well burrow & Cinci have played this year. Saw his last game and he looked bad vs that defense when the oline was an open flood gate. Reminded me of watching DJ & the Giants.

Pass YdsYds/Att   Att   Cmp   Cmp %   TD   INT   Rate   1st   1st%   20+   40+   Lng   Sck   SckY
DJ 765   5.8   131   90   68.7   2   6   69.7   35   26.7   8   1   58   22   131

JB 728  4.8   151   87   57.6   2   2   69.1   36   23.8   4   1   43   8   64

DJ actually has slightly better numbers & no number 1 wr unlike JB & look at the sacked diff. DJ is nearly sacked 3x more. And 2 ints that DJ has were SB giveaways. Thanks for brining up burrow.

Quote from: JT39 on October 06, 2023, 12:01:23 PMOf course it does. If you get hit 20-25 times a game, it affects you. The internal clock goes faster. And your trust is gone.
Nice job with the common sense. Most seem to be lacking. Get hit 30 times a game, you get shell shocked like David Carr did in Houston. Then ur internal clock is sped way up and you trust nothing. Which in turn makes you miss potential opportunities. Or you can stay in the pocket get drilled, then injured or a concussion as another option.

The line will finally be fixed when we we have no QB who can play that position well. There will be an oline but no real qb. Now we have a QB & when we had Eli & no oline.

Quote from: MightyGiants on October 04, 2023, 10:49:32 AMYeah, it is hard to believe. I had a thread calling him out after the Dallas game.  I watched his reps in that game.  I have been watching football long enough to recognize when a veteran is just going through the motions.  I have zero tolerance for players who lack effort.  I am more sympathetic with a guy like Neal (who looks to be trying) than I have a veteran who simply isn't willing to put in the effort.  That calls for a benching and it appears the coaches agreed.
Think the coach finally did the right thing, but took him a bit longer!

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on October 04, 2023, 10:47:22 AMI had some hopes that Glo would be a serviceable, league-average type starter for us at OG, which would have been a nice upgrade.

He wasn't.
I did as well, but it got worse, not better as the season went on. And now Neal blocking his own teammate. I also have hopes for him, and I know he is nearing the full 17 game exp. but that and his comments are making me really question him now. Then again the Oline coach should have been gone as well as the ST coach on the same boat outta here.

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 04, 2023, 10:40:42 AMHe at least got to a Super Bowl and could read a defense with no fear of going downfield instead of always looking for his check down or underneath route.
Thanks for sharing that. Exactly what I thought!

By the way, how long was KC in the league and how good of a team did he have, compared to this one. By the way, I was happy when they got him to the Giants. Unfortunately the SB was devastating but he was a very good Giant.

Quote from: MightyGiants on October 04, 2023, 07:55:16 AMIt's okay to say Jones had a bad game, even he admitted he did.   I do think we should stop making excuses for this terrible line.   This reminds me of the abuse I got here when I called out the now benched Glowinski
People actually liked Glo? I wanted him gone & benched even last year. By the way did anyone see how EN blocked waller in the back. That was unreal. Even without playing a full season, they may call 4 the bench as well. WTF was he seeing or doing?

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 04, 2023, 06:47:35 AMHate to say it Jones is only a small step above Brown, Kent and Kannel.  He's not as good as Kerry Collins.
They actually had teams around them. & while I was a fan and liked KC after those three previous to him. He laid the biggest egg in the SB!

QB won't matter if the can't protect. 11 sacks, pressured most by nearly double then next qb, less time to throw, and worst rated oline and wr groups.

Show me any qb that can be successful with that garbage & no support in the play calling.

But sure, get another qb to ruin, as they did for Eli for nearly 6 years and now DJ another 5. Kudos on fixing that line after 10 years, job well done.

There will always be some fans complaining about a qb no matter what. I lived and survived bad qbs like Kannel, Brown and Graham. I gave them a little time to grow/learn/improve. Once I saw they were the problem I wanted them out.

Didn't see it with Eli, when many fans wanted him gone & same with DJ. We go as far as the oline takes us.

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 02, 2023, 10:52:27 PMThank you.
Happens when u got no time (internal clock speeds up b/c they keep getting hit in under 2 seconds). He may have missed 1 of those plays earlier, but guess what look at mahomes and burrow when they have/had bad oline...

8th sack & Also the oline coach needs to be fired. Did I mention the ST coach being fired too?
