Season 5 has been as good as advertised. Jon Hamm is probably my favorite right now.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Packers vs. Giants Predictions

Pack 20, Giants 10. Pack just beat two of the best teams in the league in Detroit and KC and the Giants came within a missed field goal of going to OT against the worst offense in football.

Same old story. The defense will play well initially until the offense's lack of scoring wears them out. I can't believe Daboll thinks DeVito gives him a better chance to win over Taylor.

He was a no brainer pick. I blame coaching. Of all the coaches I think that need to be shown the door, Johnson is the top of the list.

Probably my favorite content the Giants produce. Not a ton of them this year, obviously.

Ha! We'll see!

Reading the article, it looks like the turf is the biggest issue. They also mention the fans, but whose fans? Jets or Giants? And if an opposing team is complaining about the fans, that's a good thing. We don't want you to feel comfortable here.

We go to every game. We upgraded to club seats last year, and the game experience is so much better its not even funny. The PSLs were cheap as hell and the tickets are expensive, but not outrageously so. And so far, its been really worth it.

I have never loved MetLife, but we're not getting a new stadium any time soon. I blame the Jets too if only because a multi-team stadium is never going to have the character you want in your own stadium. Giants Stadium was ours from the color of the seats and walls to the sign on the outside. I'd contribute to the "move the Jets back to Queens" fund.

I don't know where we get this QB controversy stuff from. When Tyrod Taylor comes back, he's probably the starter again unless he hasn't got the reps. DeVito is still in development, and I guarantee you Daboll thinks Tyrod is his best option to win games.

Touchdown Tommy had a good game, but some of those sacks were because he held the ball too long and Daboll said as much during his press conference. He has a long, long way to go. If the defense / special teams don't get 6 turnovers, the Commies win this game pretty easily. They outgained us and had more first downs.

Nice day for the offense overall though. Wide open guys running free, which is what Daboll's system tries to do. Not exactly a tougher test coming up, but Belicheck is not Ron Rivera.

As fans we always over-evaluate our players but some of the DJ talk is getting out of hand. If a third string, UDFA takes Jones' job, what do you think the market for him will be, especially with his gigantic contract? We would have to send multiple picks, and eat a big share of that money just to get a 7th rounder.

If the Giants draft a QB high, Jones next stop will be as one of a couple guys hoping to prove himself on his new team. No one is signing him as a franchise QB again.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: How franchise QBs were acquired

Quote from: B1GBLUE on November 20, 2023, 03:32:48 PMso we dont need the 1st overall pick?

It would be interesting to see what number QB they were. Josh Allen was the 7th pick, but the third QB taken that year. Its safe to say this is something else the Jets screwed up, but I digress.

If we don't have the number one, the ability to take a QB is dependent on who picks in front of us. I doubt Chicago moves on from Fields. Best guess is they take Marvin Harrison and trade down. Arizona is more likely to move on from Murray, and NE should definitely be picking a QB. That leaves us (I think) in third.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Good to get a win but

Excited for the win, I'm glad they got it. Makes Monday a little cheerier. I wish it was against someone else though, we just seem to have the Commies number.

We are still within striking distance of a QB, I think. There are only two winnable games left, Pats and Packers, and I think they lose the Packers game too.

Embrace the win-win! If the Giants win, they win. If they lose: better draft position! It makes the games much less stressful to me. Looking forward to seeing Grumpy Belicheck next week.

I strongly recommend visiting the Gettysburg battlefield if you are anywhere near it. Beautiful facilities and grounds. We hired a guide who brought us around the different important points. Really fun of course educational.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 17, 2023, 05:25:03 PMTotally agree it's not happening due to it being totally unrealistic. My point in posting it was just to ask the group a hypothetical here. I personally think it's a no-brainer to do the trade, but some here have a different opinion. Hence the discussion. The OP was not meant to suggest that this event will actually happen or is even a realistic possibility, just to be clear.

Agreed, but my comment was also about the source of this thing, which is a show I usually like. If they have to talk Giants, making something up out of nothing is fine I guess. Not much else to talk about until we know the draft order.

Does anyone think we don't need an OL upgrade? I am not sure what Banks is advocating for here. An upgrade this year?

We've got our LT, which is the only OL position worthy of a top 5 pick and only if its a lock. So if he's saying go OL in addition to whatever you do in the first round, then...sure? It's glaringly obvious. It looks like they may have missed on McKenthan and Glowinski should hang it up, for starters.

I am not sure how we win this one. Their o line is awful, but Thibs is out. They have decent WRs and Jackson will most likely be out and Banks is on the injury report. If McBride and Hawkins play significant snaps, we're in trouble. We dominated on defense in our first game against them and it came down to a 4th down play at the end.

How do we score? DeVito is who he is and its not NFL caliber. Neal will still be out. Saquon can only do so much. I think we'll be playing catch up again. They're home and the seat is getting warm under Rivera. The players will play to save a coach they like.

I think betting the Commies to cover is a decent bet.
