Quote from: andrew_nyGiants on November 26, 2023, 04:15:36 PMI'd like to have a high enough pick to nab Maserati Marv.

2025 we can snag Arch Manning and viola the recreation of Manning to Harrison!

LOL!!

Manning isn't draft eligible till the 2026 draft.

So was Daniel Jones $48.25 million better than DeVito this season?

Quote from: Ed Vette on November 26, 2023, 08:37:36 AMIf it's a mechanics issue, it can be improved with coaching as it did for Josh Allen and Anthony Richardson. Would that be the case here?

I don't know if I see him on the Giants after all of Jones injuries but even with all his weapons, he's going to have a nice career if he can stay healthy.

Where do you see Nabers going off in the draft?

I'm not qualified to give that answer. I do know that outside of the crackhead owner in Indy most teams won't use a top five pick on a quarterback who has accuracy issues. I do think that Daniels will eventually become a good NFL quarterback, I just would use a top 5 pick on him.

Quote from: GeauxJints on November 26, 2023, 01:32:48 AMDid you see his TD passes today?

I watched the last quarter. On his second to last drive he missed a guy wide open in the end zone on an out and up and then his touchdown pass later in the drive only happened because the receiver made a freakish play on a poorly placed ball.

He's very good. The knock on him has always been his ball placement and after watching Jones struggle with the last five years I'd like to never see it again.

Quote from: Dgoodmantrublu on November 25, 2023, 06:34:26 PMRichardson barely missed the top 5. Daniels with a similar skillset, but much more refinement isn't making it past 5. QBs always get pushed up. 3 QB will go in the top 5 with McCarthy going in the top 10 after the top 3.

Maybe the consensus will change but most of the scouting reports I've read the last few weeks have Williams, Maye, McCarthy, Sanders and Nix ahead of him. He has everything but the accuracy much like Jackson who lasted to the end of the first round. We'll know more as the process goes along but he doesn't appear to be a top five pick and could drop especially if McCarthy and Sanders declare.

Quote from: Dgoodmantrublu on November 25, 2023, 06:03:27 PMA guy like Daniels will not be available later. He will be a top 5 pick. Ward is not even close to the same class as Daniels. Waiting would be an error of epic proportions.

I seriously doubt it.

Quote from: sooners56 on November 25, 2023, 05:42:00 PMMy preference would be for a QB to have more than 1 great year in college but there are several instances, such as Burroe and Hurts, where 1 good year translated to a very good NFL QB. All the better, as the more QBs in the draft that are possibly franchise caliber, bodes well for the Giants grabbing one!

If both of the top two are off the board I'd be fine taking the best offensive lineman and then moving up into the late first round to catch a faller. I think a guy like Daniels will be available later. The other option would be to draft a project like WSU quarterback Cam Ward. He has all the tools and Jones contract means he'll be in the roster next year so he'll have at least a year to develop.

Quote from: sooners56 on November 25, 2023, 02:17:19 PM5 years in college and this is his first statistical GREAT year. Any thoughts on just the one great year? Definitely an intriguing prospect though.

How many great statistical seasons did Jalen Hurts have in college. He was similarly meh but the big difference is Daniels eventually posted gaudy stats while Hurts didn't.

Quote from: Dgoodmantrublu on November 25, 2023, 03:03:31 PMJayden Daniels is a fantastic passer. Much more advanced than Lamar at the same point.

His ball placement is not elite. He'll be throwing into much tighter windows in the NFL so it might impact his effectiveness. If there was ever a guy I'd take a chance on it's him.

He's Lamar Jackson 2.0. Both men leave a little to be desired as passers but are so dynamic that they can wreck an NFL defense.

Quote from: Dgoodmantrublu on November 20, 2023, 03:23:54 PMWho are the top guys.

Burrow. Top pick.
Mahomes. 10th pick.
Josh Allen. 7th pick
Hurts. 2nd round
Stroud. 2nd pick
Tua. 5th pick
Herbert 6th pick
Lamar. Trade up to back of first round.
Lawrence. Top Pick.

If you have anyone below this level, you aren't winning crap without a perfect team around them. Hurts and Lamar are complete outliers. I don't think you are getting this quality of player outside of right around the top 5. Teams are more desperate now because more teams need QBs than at any time in recent memory.

Even though he's been hurt all year Aaron Rodgers would have been on this list. He went 24th overall after an inexplicable draft day drop. Prior to the draft half the mocks had him going first overall. Safe to say 23 teams screwed the pooch on that one.

I don't understand how Johnson is still employed by the Giants. No returning lineman is better today than they were at the end of last year.

I'm a huge Zeitler fan but he wasn't good during him time in NY and his performance while in NY wasn't worth what the market was willing to pay. I'm glad he resurrected his career but I want crush Gettleman for signing him or for letting him walk. Both were the right call at the time.

Addison and Porter Jr were on most of our radars as they were likely to still be on the board when we picked and played at a position of need.

I despise Metlife and blame that idiot Woody Johnson for that uninspired stack of CD's pretending to be a stadium.

When the Jets were sure that they were going to get a stadium built on the west side the Giants published artist renderings of what they wanted our new stadium to look like and it was a cool retro inspired building with a brick facade. When the Jets deal fell through they elbowed their grubby way back into the meadowlands deal and made demands for a ultra modern design. What we ended up with is an abomination. It's uninspiring and cold just like Woody's soul.

As a fan I hate the moment of kindness Mara showed Leon Hess. The other tenants are like herpes. They'll never go away and they look for ways to ruin a good time. I have no problem with MetLife being rated the worst if for no other reason than the fact that it's true.
