Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 25, 2024, 08:54:40 PMA ton of people like Mccarthy more than Maye. McCarthy has been a top 10 prospect for 2-3 months. Jayden Daniels was a 7th rd pick to start 2023.

JJ was never once considered on the level of the other three

Look at his stats from early NOvember to the championship game .... not good at all

Look I wanted a QB but not JJ

Their is a reason going into the championship game Michigan was a clear favorite.... but the reason people thought Washington had a chance was because at the time people clearly saw Penix as the BETTER QB

Picking Nabers was by far the best pick Joe could have done considering who was already taken before him

THANK GOD !!!

Joe is a SMART man

Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 25, 2024, 08:48:00 PMJJ, Nabers, or Odunze.

Almost think you go qb because he fell in their lap.

He didn't fall on their lap ... he wasn't even expected to be considered this high until very recent.... and that is most likely because of teams with QB needs .. not because he is on the level on the top 3 qbs already picked

If we pass on Nabers or even Odunze I will puke

To me this means JJ isn't as high on their lost as we thought....If JJ is high on their board I don't see why you risk future capital for another QB when most likely JJ makes it to 6th

I hope I'm right ... Im not high on JJ

Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 18, 2024, 10:02:25 AMSo then we haven't been wasting Slayton, and we didn't waste Hyatts rookie year?

Any other team and Slayton is a 1000 yard wr every year and a solid #2. Any other team and Hyatt has a productive rookie year.

Yes a little has to do with the oline but if the qb refuses to go downfield then there's really nothing anyone else can do. Because Slayton and Hyatt ran open a lot last season because teams knew we wouldn't go deep.

How many snaps did Hyatt play his rookie season ? And how many of those were in Jones games ?

I do agree that Jones does not go deep like he should... but Galloday was a bust ... Waller and Hyatt barely played with Jones... This really is NOT a point to be made here

Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 15, 2024, 07:59:55 AMThey weren't all on Jones but to think Jones play had nothing to do with the downfall of both is kinda laughable. Golladay was a contested catch guy and Jones won't throw that ball, Waller stretches the field and Jones won't throw that ball. Same with Hyatt, he stretches teams vertically but Jones won't throw that ball. I've used the stat before but even in Jones best season 2022, he only threw the ball beyond 20 yards twice by Thanksgiving, that's ridiculous and a waste of the talent we have. Wandale stretched the field and was a yac guy in college along with Hyatt and as long as Jones is qb they will go to waste.

Hodgins had 300 yards, that wasn't a surprise. 300 yards is nothing.

It wasnt just 300 yards .... it was a portion of the season ... and he played decent in the playoffs ... we all also thought highly of Bellinger his rookie season

Jones 100% has issues.... but Galloday flop is not on Jones... Waller has barely been here ..and when he has played he almost certainly ailing from something

Lets be real here

Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 14, 2024, 09:27:52 PMNo he won't, even in 2022 he didn't throw the ball beyond 6-8 yards. So it's not like it was just 2023 when the line was bad, it happened in 2022 too. The devil we know refuses to throw deep and it's absurd. It's why people thought tyrod played so much better because he actually threw the ball deep when Jones wouldn't. It's why teams basically baited Jones to throw deep and made fun of him afterwards. They solved him period.

This same thing happened when we got Golladay, and Waller, we thought things would change but Jones can't read defenses well enough to throw the ball in tight spaces consistently.

Hyatt and Odunze will be completely wasted with Jones.

So Golladay is on Jones now ??

Waller is on Jones now ? Injury prone and obviously heart not all in it Waller is due to Jones ?

Yes Jones plays it too safe but to say Odunze will be wasted because of Jones is simply absurd

Can they be better with a better QB ? yes def

Was Hodgins wasted with Jones ? Or did he become a surprise pickup ??

And not many think Taylor did better than Jones... He just played different than Jones and too many they liked seeing something different. But Taylor was not good

How has he been stopping the run recently ?

If you were to ask me ... my wanted positions in the first 2 rounds of the draft are

1. WR ...... unless Caleb/Maye/Daniels falls to 6
2. Run stuffing DT

YES ! For how long ? One of my favorite signings ... glad he's back

I like Jones ... but his injuries worry me .... And I know ACL injuries are not as bad as they used to be .... But his best feature was running .... So now that's a question mark

Do I think jones can lead a team lets say if the Giants were built like the niners deep into the playoffs and compete ..... YES I do

But not this team .... And this team is nowhere near to being built like the niners

So to me this is his last season to prove anything ....

That being said I think imo is the only way to move on from qb via draft is if one of the top 3 QBs drop in the draft to us

I don't believe giving up the farm or even a second round pick for that

And I still don't believe JJ is worth the farm or even the #6 pick

Get MHJ/Nabers/Odunze build the team as a whole and see where we land next season.

And now we hopefully/finally also have a WR1 and for the love of god an average O-line for Jones not to be excused anymore

I feel like having no momentum can negatively effect the kicking team .... You either hit a wall by being stonewalled or you back-tread and wait for the returner to come to you essentially giving up yardage

If we dont get one of the top 3 picks (McCarthy is not one of them)

We go Nabers

then run stuffing DT in the 2nd round

Osi was big on the hip drop tackles

So what if the circumstances are that is just how you were able to get a hold of the player ? These rules are crazy
