Quote from: DaveBrown74 on January 08, 2024, 07:15:05 AMThe Raiders have confirmed Pierce won't be the HC? I missed that story. Wow, that's surprising if indeed true.

It's my guess... There were rumours that Pierce as not going to be confirmed as the HC.

49ers and Lions for me.

Yesterday's win didn't change the cards a whole lot from a Draft perspective, whether you pick 5th or 6th doesn't change massively.

If you want to pick the best QB in the draft it's going to cost you, except if you own the first two picks, which was clear for weeks that this wasn't the case.

Look guys, either you tank the season completely or you play to win the game. Simple as that.
The Giants elected for the latter.

If I had to take an educated guess, I think Ron Rivera will get fired from the Commies.

Vrabel might leave for NE, IF Coach Belichick decides to retire.

Giff Smith won't be confirmed as the Chargers HC.
Same for Antonio Pierce (if this happens I'd strongly consider him as a DC in case Wink decides to leave).

Your thoughts?

I think the Packers are clearly the favorites here.

LaFleur is 12-0 in December games so far and I seriously don't think this is going to change next week.

Plus, they have won 2 very difficult games against the Lions and the Chiefs, which are 2 very good teams, too.
Love is legit, too, I think.

We'll drop to 4-9, sadly.

Quote from: uconnjack8 on November 22, 2023, 09:57:21 AMHiw many did he play before September this year?  Serious question, not trying to be a jerk

I was including practice.  ;)

He won't practice in any of the OTAs or any other type of practices on the field.

Quote from: Woody on November 20, 2023, 03:40:56 PMa better question is ....IF Tyrod comes back who plays ...Tommy or Tyrod ?

It's unbelievable how I thought that we had fixed the issue of physical (un)reliability of our starting QB by signing an experienced backup QB like Tyrod. Proved to be far than ideal, where the backup QB goes down in the second game in a row.

He will not play a single down before September 2024.

Quote from: B1GBLUE on November 20, 2023, 03:32:48 PMso we dont need the 1st overall pick?

In my view it depends on the year, too.
If the first 2-3 picks in the draft are owned by teams which need a Franchise QB, then obv the higher up you are the better it is. It also depends on how good and deep a class on a given position is in a given year.

He was actually quite good until he tore his ACL... After, he never found back to his previous level.

Quote from: LennG on November 17, 2023, 04:30:22 PMAll I've been ready lately is that there is no way the Giants re-sign him again. WHY?
Because he is mouthing off because he wants to win that badly? I fully understand that you need to keep things in-house, but McKinney was a bright light until he got hurt. Can a player. all of a sudden, go from 'star' to dud?
Why are some so anxious to move on from him?
Quote from: H-Town G-Fan on November 17, 2023, 04:33:04 PMHe hasn't been that good from my perspective. Expected much more of him. Would not want to give him what I anticipate he will want in FA. If it's reasonable, fine. But I would not pay close to the top of the market for him.

I think wanting to win has got nothing to do with being respectful or the decisions of your coaching staff. You don't like the coaches? Leave. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Either way, I also think that he was good, but not elite. Not a must re-sign if you ask me.

Quote from: B1GBLUE on November 06, 2023, 12:37:45 PMIn my opinion, they expected jones to hold it down through the end of the year. no one saw a torn acl coming. we got barkley who will be elevated this week most likely. and tyrod is back in 3 weeks if healthy. no need to waste precious draft capital for a guy who may or may not play.

That's exactly the point. This could not have been foreseen. The neck injury has/had nothing to do with the ACL, nothing.

And making these statements in hindsight is always easy. Let's always keep in mind that the Coach and the GM need to decide BEFORE and not after the fact.

Quote from: Giant Jim on November 06, 2023, 06:51:35 AMI didn't think that until yesterday. The losses to the Jets & Buffalo could've been prevented by coaching, but could be part of learning for the head coach. Yesterday's fiasco in inexcusable.

I have to be honest, I don't understand how we can blame the coach for a game lost where you lose your 1st string QB due to an ACL tear... And the rest of the season won't be any better, unless they find a good fit to replace DeVito.
