Quote from: T200 on October 02, 2023, 10:34:39 PMNothing good happens when 0 is on the field.
He has been a let down all season & Waller as well as most other Wrs are doing nada, reason why they are ranked 32nd as a squad.

6th sack of the night. Yea, oline is blocking great again. Again they mention it on air. And another bad ST play.

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 02, 2023, 10:03:00 PMThe line has not been that bad tonight pass blocking.  This is one of the worst pass defenses in the league and yet they can't get the ball downfield.
Aikman thinks otherwise, as do the eye test... Sure there been several good blocks and then the rest? But the play calling would help.

1. Tackling issue again after they said watch how we tackle this week.

2. ST sucked last year and doing worse this year. Fire the ST, he looks lost.

3. Seattle is hurt on the oline but are managing and picking good play calls to help the oline. Even though there oline back ups seem better than most of our starters.

4. Did I mention FIRE the ST coach. And I very rarely want someone fired.

5. I'm disgusted!!! MK needs better play calling cause our line sucks. Seems he had a brief stint when they got the fg that the play calling was a tad better.

10 years and our oline still sucks. Even airman said they have 6 plus defenders on the oline to protect DJ and they still come in free. Disgusted!!!

Quote from: MightyGiants on October 02, 2023, 08:55:35 AMI am hoping like hell that the Giants will make me look foolish for doubting them.

1) I am really really really tired of talking about the offensive line.   Seems like that has been a main topic of conversation for Giants fans (as in talking about the need to get better) for well over a decade.

2) It seems like the players are more into playing ping-pong than winning football games.   This may seem petty, but it really irks me when I listen to player interviews (like the ones with Art Stapleton) and you can hear the players whooping it up playing ping pong.  I just wish they put as much energy into winning football games as they do their ping-pong matches.

3) Has Daboll fallen off the player-friendly coach tightrope?  Player-friendly coaches are always challenged with the need to balance their friendliness with the players and their need to hold the players accountable.  Has 1925 Giants Way become a country club for well-paid (some might say overpaid) NFL players?

4) How many more games are the Giants going to lose because of injury before they fire Ronnie Barnes?  You don't spend a decade at the top of the injury list and not address the VP of those services.  How does Thomas go from we are holding him out of the 49ers game to be safe, to is week to week because he suffered a serious setback at a position that doesn't stress the hamstring?

5) Are the 11 picks in the 2022 draft (2 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 100) ever going to contribute to a Giants win?

6) I so wanted to believe the Giants were headed in the right direction after the playoff victory last season.   Now I am beginning to have my doubts and wonder if it was just wishful thinking of a desperate fan wanting to end a decade of futility.

NY Giants, I know you are handicapped by missing 2 of your top offensive players, but now is the time to prove me wrong for not having faith.  If you don't it's an easy path to 5 and 1.

1. The oline has been an issue starting with their last SB win. You started to see the cracks then, disgusting.

2. I mentioned barnes for years, on the old Giants forum. I don't get it.

3. The picks as I've said b4, need time and with KT & what wink is asking of him can also affect him, but he can do better and same with EN who hasn't yet played a full season.

Quote from: MightyGiants on September 27, 2023, 12:26:51 PMHere's a pretty good article on just how bad the O-line is.

Giants' offensive line unsurprisingly ranks dead last in PFF's latest rankings

Saw that our WRS were also rated dead last. Where is that cape for DJ!

Also, oline is ranked last in the NFL. And every game even going into week 4 will be a different lineup. How can they gel and lean on one another when a player or two is always changed? Hopefully this coming game it will finally be set and they can finally grow as a group.

You usually need about 3 years to see how things pan out. IMHO it is fun to play this speculation game, but it is futile.

I remember when people were calling Andrew Thomas a bust, and now he is one of the best LT in the league if not top 1-3.

Quote from: andrew_nyGiants on September 25, 2023, 07:24:06 PMI consider myself an objective observer (as in not 100% but hoping) of Daniel Jones.

Did anyone see the protection TB's OL was providing Mayfield?

I dare say that if we protected DJ like that (especially against that Eagle front) and had open receivers like that: he would carve them up!

I agree, those are all concerns/issues/thoughts we have had. It may just come down to time with extra days off to get things righted.

It might just be time that is needed. New pieces to gel, etc... I start taking teams for who they are around week 4-6 w/in context. Especially with preseason reduced and barely any playing time for the vets. Add injuries. We are too thin in some places to potentially overcome the numbers we've had in key positions.

We did have a rough starting Schedule. I did expect a lot more vs. Dallas.

Quote from: MightyGiants on September 25, 2023, 11:11:50 AMI don't mind this post, not in the least.  Although I will say that until the Giants get their house in order, what is happening around the league will make little difference.
The Point about the league is that it isn't so cut and dry & I agree, the Giants need to fix themselves first before anything else matters. We as fans have that luxury of hope lol.

Quote from: Ed Vette on September 25, 2023, 11:04:31 AMThey better win, because there is no way they beat Miami or Buffalo with the way their playing. Slice and dice.
Well if they continue to play as they have and don't correct their internal issues I agree 100%. Yet if they get close to it all being on the same page, then Any Given Sunday!

I mean who picked the cards to beat the Cowboys? I actually thought they might surprise them and possibly shock them if they played as they did the 1st two weeks, but we were sold on how unbeatable the Cowboys are.

Quote from: Ed Vette on September 25, 2023, 10:58:10 AMI believe the $97 million in dead caps falls on Az. They can keep him or cut him next year before the $18 million guaranteed kicks in. I think he's better than any FA out there.
He may be tbh. However, I see him more as a flyer and similar to Baker Mayfield.

We all know what needs to be addressed/fixed going into the next game and hopefully with some of our injured players coming back and some shuffling, we can get to it.

Our first half schedule as we know is rough. If we can survive and improve along the way and the oline can finally be settled and gel we have a chance.

The Cowboys got beat by the cards that everyone was pouring how bad we are because we just beat them. I wonder what that narrative will be this week to defend the Cowboys.

Redskins got smacked when they played a good team and barely won playing two teams that are not playing well.

The Eagles are still the team to beat but they don't look the same, they beat teams that are also not top tier and have the 29th leading offense but a top 5 defense. And Hurts hasn't been playing well.

I stated it was early in the season and the Cards game wasn't a do-or-die game but a game that would have been great to get. Considering how our schedule looked and the injuries it would have been tough to beat SF but I believe there was a chance for it at moments. Tackling was horrendous.

I do think getting the ship right vs. Seattle will be big. Then we take it from there on.

Quote from: Ed Vette on September 25, 2023, 10:40:11 AMMe? I'm not a Jet fan. But if they want to salvage their season, he's light years better than Wilson. The Cards want to dump him so isn't a 4th worth it?
Guess I can see that, but how much of an upgrade is that? Not to mention they mortgaged their future with the picks they had to give up for Rodgers.

Is their headache...
