I think any analysis of their front office or coaching structure is at best woefully incomplete without understanding that their defacto GM is Aaron Rodgers. Everyone else is just there to support day to day operations, but he controls the direction of that team right now.

Quote from: BluesCruz on January 16, 2024, 01:21:46 PMThis reminds me of Fermi's Paradox

If he cannot reason correctly, or put together a winning team, and is abusive to subortinates

Why is he still HC.  If Schoen really listened in for 4 games, he must be painfully aware of the discordance and abusive behavior.

Mark my words- Schoen will go down with the ship next year unless drastic changes are made

The paradox is the players do seem to like Daboll.  They never quit on him
How is this possible.  Can both things be true- Coaches hate him and players like him?  I do remember him unloading on Jones, but I'd like to unload on Jones LOL  Throw the damm ball down the field will'ya?

He went after Tyrod Taylor a couple of times too.

It's not impossible he beats up his coaching staff but looks out for players.

It's interesting. Since the merger this team has only ever been good when the rest of the division has also been good. The other three have had opportunities when the other teams were awful.

If all these accusations are true and not one sided, why would he support Daboll?

Who says the support is coming from Schoen? Mara probably doesn't want to fire a guy after just 2 years again.

If all of these things are actually true, though, fire everybody and start over. It's not as if there's a lot here to salvage.

That many jobs - if I were ole Jerruh I'd wonder if Quinn put more into these HC interviews than he did yesterday's gameplan.

Daniels won't last past #4.

Quote from: ozzie on January 15, 2024, 09:30:38 AMI believe the problem with the Cowboys is that they have no grit. As someone said, "Jerry loves the sizzle", and so he puts together flashy, higlight reel teams to market "The Brand". They get great "garbage time" stats and beat up on the weaker teams in the league, but when someone comes to play big boy football, they fold. They cannot handle the pressure it takes to win.
I am listening to Dallas radio this morning (and loving it!) and a good point was made that Prescott is another of their problems. His stats are great, potential MVP   and all that, but thru 4 coaching regimes, he hasn't ever delivered in the playoffs. He fits the Dallas mold perfectly - all flash and no grit along with a sense of entitlement that all teams should roll over because they are playing the Dallas Cowboys.

Prescott finished with 403 yards passing, 3 TDs, and a 68% completion pct yesterday

I think the issue is compounded by the HC. Choking in the playoffs is something Mike McCarthy was doing for years before he came to Dallas.

Quote from: BluesCruz on January 15, 2024, 06:58:13 AMIf he just wants to pad his victory column.  There is no better team to do it with except in the playoffs

Always a bridesmaid never a bride

They definitely are a regular season wonder

Maybe Lil Bill can right their ship.  His mentor Bill Parcells coached there as I recall.  He seemed to get along with a much younger more involved Jerrahhh

McCarthy is terrible at preparing his team for the intensity of the playoffs

It's going to take him 2 seasons anyway - I think BB would choose the Chargers instead. Better QB, higher draft pick.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 14, 2024, 08:31:35 PMI know many (myself included) thought the SB window closed last year, but...

There's an easy solution for them. Don't extend Dak.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 12, 2024, 02:39:33 PMI agree with everyone else that it appears this move does not comply with the letter of the rule.   However as @uconngiant pointed out it certainly matches the spirit of the rule.

I guess the Pats went to the league and told them they had an in-house minority candidate they wanted to promote and ask if the league would waive all the other requirements to allow that to happen.  The league would be foolish to say no.   I guess with the Raiders, they are not sold on AP continuing to be their head coach.

Yeah, it's pretty clear the Raiders want Harbaugh - just as a few years ago they wanted McDaniel instead of Bisacccia.

I think, unfortunately for Neal, he hasn't earned the right to walk back into the RT position unchallenged. Though with the way Peart and Phillips looked toward the end, the challenge may come from the other young tackles we already have.

I'd rather we looked at veteran interior OL.

Quote from: AZGiantFan on January 10, 2024, 05:52:25 PMBoth.  He weights every issue in Wink's favor and gives almost no regard to the idea that the head coach is the head coach and subordinate coaches should be subordinate, not insubordinate.

That seems about what it boils down to. Wink saw himself as co-HC and that led to his exits both here and in Baltimore.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 09, 2024, 07:46:37 PMThe NYG PR team is doing a full-court press on Wink.  Assuming it's true, then Wink was wrong.  Still, it's hard to know what is and isn't true at this point, at least for me.

I'd think the 24 thing would be easily proven wrong if they made it up.

I think in all honesty we're drafting about where we should be. All the teams drafting behind us are better, and all the teams drafting ahead of us are slightly worse. Slightly.
