Mudder, that's too bad, but if for some reason she makes it back early, she is always welcome.

BIGWEEZE and he said he had like 1/2 a dozen folding chairs he can bring along.

Great...

I agree also that something to do on successive nights/days might be a way for everyone to participate in at least one event.

Just a side note, if anyone is bringing youngsters, feel free to bring DVD's if you want.  IF you can get the TV away from Rich and Ed while they are watching the Suberbowl, we can play the dvd's for the kids to keep them happy !!!  Also, if you have yard games for the kids, feel free.  Please, no Darts !!   :hurt:

"A" ball.....the Tri city Valley Cats (Houston) play  the Mahonig Valley Scrappers (Cleveland) at J Bruno Stadium which isn't far from Georges place....this is a real nice minor league park that is very family oriented which means it's cheap

Sat 7pm....Sunday 5 pm....Monday 11 am

Saratoga Race Track will be in full swing with a card Sunday for those inclined

there are also some very good golf courses in the area.....my fave in the area is one bill (webster29) turned me on to.....Saratoga Lakes.....the starter there is a Giant's fan

J Bruno stadium is less than ten minutes from me...  as for golf courses, there are the ones up north, but two minutes from my place is Frear Park.  I don't golf, but if you guys want to golf there, I know people who golf in leagues there and can probably get you guys some tee times or all the info you want.  From what I've heard, it's not a bad course and it's 18 holes and the food is really good if anyone wants to grab a burger or something after a round.  Let me know.

I probably should have responded to this a few years ago.

Ok, here we go:
I live in upstate NY, Troy, about 15 minutes from the Albany training camp site.  Sweet.
I watched my first Giants game with my father in 1958, the NFL Championship game against the Baltimore Colts.  Loved the Giants ever since [and yes, I also lived through the 60's and 70's with the team].  Not so sweet.
I work for the NYS court system in facilities management.
I am married to a great gal... she's known me for over 35 years and still likes me.  I often tell her that alone proves there's something wrong with her.
I have two grown sons, one newly married to a terrific gal that we consider a daughter more that anything else.
My youngest son flew the nest and moved to Tempe, AZ.  At least I have a warm place to visit.

We would like your input on how you feel about topics that do not relate to football in this forum. That would pertain mainly to the discussion of other sports such as Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, Boxing and Soccer.

Do you like to see these threads here? Only in the off season? Would like to see them moved after they get legs to a separate "Other Sports Board" with one tacked up thread with all the other sports topics and a link to the thread? Keep the discussion here only to football and move them as they come up?

Obviously we will not all agree on this, but there has to be a majority opinion on this. Right now, it's allowed to stay and discuss. Some of these threads have longevity such as the Ranger's thread. If you aren't interested you can ignore them. Those of no interest drop from the first page pretty quickly.

Would those of you who post on the Ranger's thread go to a "Sports Extra" board to discuss the Rangers and Hockey or would it be out of sight out of mind?

Thank you in advance for your perspective.

Ed

I have no real problem with the way it is, but I'll throw out a question.  Is there any capability in the board software to allow a user to Ignore a thread, so it doesn't come up on the thread list for that user any more?  Then it wouldn't really matter.  Anyone not wanting to see those threads on the main board could just Ignore them and they'd never see them while those who like them can be accommodated.

I would say leave as is generally, but I like CA's proposal.  I think that would be a nice option for those not interested in the other NFT or NGT threads.

I agree todge.  If Prince doesn't beat out TT, I'd be upset.  I think it all depends on how much camp time [if there is camp this season] that Prince gets.  If he gets significant camp time, I would expect him to start, maybe not the first few weeks, but sometime soon after the season starts, whenever that may be.

I wished I lived next door to Ronnie Barnes.  I would love to know the up-to-the-minute, actual medical conditions of Koets, Seubert, O'Hara and Andrews.  I would also ask him what the coaches really think of Beatty.  I'm trying to look at it that with the Giants passing on some pretty good o-line talent, the positives may be outweighing the negatives on the players mentioned above at this time.

NFL Draft, NY Giants style / Re: Yay...a Terrapin

The player had some ongoing injuries that kept him from getting on the field. Then Meggett's son got playing time shared. There were reasons his production went down. Go to Giants.com and under the player evaluations, the whole story is there. Coach Coughlin didn't want to throw anyone under the bus, so see it for yourself. It's there.

This kid is going to be a solid player for the giants.

I swear, some of you guys just are looking for an "I told you so" down the road.

Ok, I get the joke. The entire draft sucks and Reese all the way down to the Scouts on the road have no clue. Our season is shot because we don't have any good Linebackers and the O-line is in Depends Diapers. We should have taken Costanzo even though he was picked up before we could pick. Or, Ingram.

Ugh!

Ed, I am sensing you're getting frustrated, which of course is not easy to do around here.     It will all prove itself on the field, one way or another, in time.  The only thing I would add is, although I am very happy with the Price pick, Costanzo was picked by Indy at 22, we could have had him.  Although, as I said, I have no problem with Prince.  We needed a qualtiy CB.  But, isn't this fun?   LOL

Your all right he will get blown over like a stick in those stiff winds at Giant Stadium. Wasted pick, ripe for an "I told you so".

Hey wait just a second, I have a thought. Do you think it's possible that he might just be able to cover TE's from the Sam position? Maybe contribute to the putrid special teams everyone so loudly exposed last season while he learns the trade and puts on some muscle?  Nahhhh. What a stupid ignorant thought.

Ed, you're right.  It seems the Giants are adding some speed and youth to their special teams.  The bonus for guys like this will be if they can add to the defensive packages in certain situations.

In that case Rick, I hope he sticks.
