If we taken anything positive out of this season it's that we've found two really good young receivers.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on October 15, 2023, 10:08:32 PMTaylor has played a half in the past 2+ years, I'll give him a pass. Especially since the coordinator has to communicate that he can't run there with no timeouts available.

You absolutely cannot audible to a run with no timeouts. I don't care if he hasn't played in two years. Anyone with half a brain can do that math.

Quote from: andrew_nyGiants on October 15, 2023, 10:08:55 PMWhen you're the HC of a 1-4 team with playoff expectations and you're at the 1 with 14 seconds left in the half, YOUR JOB IS TO OVERCOMMUNICATE SITUATIONAL FOOTBALL!!

He can yell at Tyrod all he wants about not audibling to a run there. That conversation should've happened during the time-out!

At some point you have to expect that a ten year vet is smart enough to make the right decision. Micromanaging is never a healthy thing.

Nice audible by Taylor. If they gave this team a football IQ test they'd all come back as being special needs.

First game back after tearing an ACL and he's forced to play a position he hasn't played in almost a decade. He gets a pass on that from me.

The guy has pretty much been flawless his first years of college. One day doesn't change a single thing. Even Tom Brady had rough games.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on October 13, 2023, 06:27:30 PMThe left side is very serviceable to good in Thomas, Brederson, and JMS. I think that they go get productive FA ie a RG and RT/swing and build depth with late round guys and UDFA.

We are 18 games into Neal's career, and he's played next to glow and mckethan. Think he deserves a little more time.

What makes a Bredeson and JMS "serviceable"? Bredeson has a PFF grade of 44 and JMS 49. Neither have been noteworthy so far this year. I hope hopes the JMS will develop but as of right now the Jets drafted the better center.

The hard cold reality is that we only have one proven commodity on the line. Everyone else should be fighting for their football lives.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on October 11, 2023, 01:25:18 PMAssuming the money is the same, I would suspect he'd rather to go to the Jets, as they are more talented and have a better record.

And if he plays well and earns an extension the Jets are primed to win when Rodgers returns next year.

Quote from: Rambo89 on October 09, 2023, 08:00:59 PMJohn Mara would sell the franchise before he let Schoen or anyone draft a QB to replace Daniel Jones

From your lips to God's ears.... We aren't that lucky though.

Quote from: JT39 on October 10, 2023, 06:21:37 PMDon't get too high on the PAC 12 QBs out Williams. Horrible defensive division. Air raid offenses. Barely hit. And nix and pennix are in their 5th and 6th years already.

Here's my top 5

Williams
Maye
McCarthy
Leonard
Ewers

Leonard and his 3 passing touchdowns for Duke this year? No thanks. We've gotten royally screwed with the last two quarterbacks we've drafted from Duke. Taking another 6-5 guy from Durham with a mediocre resume won't fly

Quote from: brownelvis54 on October 10, 2023, 07:20:14 PMActually, Carolina Panthers are currently 0-5.... it would be interesting to see if they would go after williams if they do get the number one overall pick.

After all they gave up to get the first overall pick from the Bears last year. No way. They are far more likely to try and trade down to help surround Young with help.

Quote from: GMenRF on October 10, 2023, 05:57:26 PMConsidering we are at week 6 already, as a Giant tradition, it's time to talk draft picks.  (To reiterate this is a reflection on the frustration and disappointment I've had with this team which is at an all time high as far back as the punt return for a TD to DJax)

Given the injuries to DJ and how we have destroyed his development,  the Giants need to look forward for his long term replacement.

So which if the QB prospectd out there should we take a long hard look and why.

Share your thoughts.

A lot of the college season left to go but in addition to those mentioned you have Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy, Quinn Ewers, Jayden Daniels, Dillon Gabriel and Jordan Travis. All of them have the physical tools and production to merit a first round grade. If all of them come out a couple will still be on the board at the beginning of the second round.

Quote from: LennG on October 09, 2023, 05:24:31 PMAida Hutchinson is a stud. Wish he were on my team.

That's the sad story on our beloved GMen over the passed decade. Horrendously bad but just good enough to miss our on generational talent by a couple spots. Hutchinson is a stud, but we never had a shot at him so, respectfully, he has no barring on this discussion.

A couple of things to keep in mind with Jerry Jones. Unlike every other owner he really understands football as he is the only owner that played the sport at the D1 level. Second he gives his coaches every resource to win. They consistently have one of the most talented rosters year in and year out. That performance was pathetic. I have no problem with him calling his coach out after that. They have far too much talent to be losing games like that. Before you point the finder at Dak just remember McCarthy wanted him extended and Jones gave him what he asked for.
