Quote from: Fletch on August 20, 2024, 11:27:50 AMI worked with a guy who was related to him either in-law or something. He said he is actually a good guy who tries to help people in the community ; gives free tickets out to games, and kept in touch with people still in the 'hood where my work was located at that time.

Are you referring to Tua or Flores?

Quote from: Philosophers on August 20, 2024, 10:49:49 AMIt's not like folks can say Tua is a soft Gen Z who wanted to be coddled and Flores was "tough."  I mean Tua played for Nick Saban.  No swaddling there under Nick.

I think there is a difference between tough/demanding and tearing a player down for the sake of tearing them down.

Quote from: madbadger on August 20, 2024, 10:08:52 AMSome people just don't have the personal skills to maximize their abilities. In my experience the people who lack those skills are also most likely to blame anyone and everyone for their failure. I have no doubts he's a good X's and O's coach but if you actively sabotage the most important player on your roster you have only yourself to blame for getting fired and not rehired by anyone else.

We have witnessed it time and time again.  The job of an HC is significantly different than that of a coordinator.   Many talented coordinators fail to make the jump to HC.   For former DCs, the challenge is even greater because there really isn't a similar position on defense to the QB they now need to coach.

Dyontae Johnson, who spent last season on the practice squad as an undrafted rookie, impressed early in camp before suffering an ankle injury in the preseason opener. Johnson was still in a walking boot as of Thursday, so a return doesn't appear close.

With Ryder Anderson being waived, I will add Defensive line to the list of possible claims

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Comments from Joe Schoen

Joe Schoen said on
@WFAN660
 that he typically asks coaches to pick their top 22 players on both offense & defense approaching cut-down day to paint a clear picture of where they should be looking to add.

He said he's always looking at this time of year for opportunities to make his team better.

Schoen was asked if he's comfortable with his 53. He said about 51, then corrected himself and said it's probably a little less than that.

We speak to Brandon Brown today at noon #Giants
