Rich Eisen works for the NFL network who cover the NFL 24 hours a day. What do you expect them to show 6 hours before the biggest game of the year? Horseback riding?

The CBS special on the NFL today from 75-90 was cool to watch.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on February 11, 2024, 01:30:02 PMHow does it work with dinner for you guys? Does everyone just kind of get a plate anytime they want, or does everyone kind of sit down and eat during halftime?

I'll be doing the latter seeing that I have basically zero interest in watching Usher perform.

I want all food out before kickoff and it takes till like 6:35 to finally kick off this works out every year. I can't wait till 8 to eat.  There's always more food we can put out at halftime.

Anyone else rewatch Giants SB games in Super Sunday? I watched the most recent game vs the Patriots in 2012 and now I am watching the 2nd SB game vs the Bills.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: DJ on next year's draft class

Quote from: MightyGiants on February 11, 2024, 01:22:01 PMThe Bills were a playoff-caliber team when they drafted Josh Allen.  The Ravens when they drafted Lamar Jackson.  The Eagles when they drafted Hurts.  The 49ers when they drafted Purdy.  The Cowboys when they drafted Dak.

Don't forget the Chiefs. They had to trade up to steal Mahomes. They were 12-4 in 2016.

Cowboys could not have expected that Dak was the answer right away being that he was taken in the 4th round. Same with Purdy.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on February 11, 2024, 11:57:02 AMHe seems to be toxic enough and unreliable enough that, even with that $2.5m hit, it's questionable at best that he should have a precious roster spot.

Being a healthy scratch in the Super Bowl kind of tells you all you need to know about what the Chiefs think of him at this point.

I guess they are activating Skyy Moore for the game?

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Eli and the HOF

Quote from: LennG on February 11, 2024, 12:10:38 PMIf Joe Namath can get in with his stats then they should carry Eli in on the other player's shoulders.

Namath gets in because of one SB and his charismatic character. Eli should get in because of a couple of plays that will go down in SB history as maybe the best ever.

I was going to compare Namath getting in to Eli but figured I would get hate posts. The HOF screwed up with Namath and most everyone thinks he should never have been inducted. There must have been less of a focus on stats when he get his votes. Passing rating didn't exist and a 50% completion ratio with more interceptions and touchdowns were looked over. So unfortunately for Eli those fancy stats will be part of the evaluation.

I think we should be asking non Giants fans and the media outside of NYC will about Eli's HOF chances. Too many have rose colored glasses.

Why isn't Phil in the HOF but ELI gets in right away? Phil was playing at a high level later in his career than Eli was.

Pregame - Guac and chips, Pigs & Blankets, mini Quiches
Game time - 5 Spice Chicken Wings and Sriracha Chicken Wings from the air fryer and Baked Ziti
Drinks - Hopeless Romantic DIPA from Long Live Beerworks and whatever red wine my sister in law brings. Maybe a scotch later in the game. :drunk:

Quote from: andrew_nyGiants on February 11, 2024, 11:12:39 AMAs a disappointment because my hope was him being the next Mark Bavaro.

He just wasn't that kind of a teammate.

Ironically they both played the same amount of seasons after being drafted.

Big Ben is definitely getting in.

I would be shocked if Eli gets in one his first ballot. His career stats outside of 2 perfect super bowl runs is rather pedestrian.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on February 11, 2024, 08:38:15 AMIs this guy going to be out of the NFL completely after this season?

Not so fast. Since he was a 1st round pick his 4th season is fully guaranteed so the Chiefs will be carrying a $2.5 million dead cap hit if he is cut. Teams have done this so it's possible he is cut.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on February 10, 2024, 04:06:55 PMTo be clear I am understanding you correctly: you believe that with DeVito starting all season the Giants would be a Super Bowl caliber team?

Stop feeding the trolls. To quote Logan Roy "These are not serious people".

Quote from: Ed Vette on February 10, 2024, 09:23:01 AMSports can contribute 40% of an institution's revenue. Only the top programs pay that much but most are mid to high six figures.

Then why is their tuition as high as the division 2-3 schools?

Quote from: coggs on February 09, 2024, 01:34:40 PMIs this a serious question?  I don't want to vote, because when I see the results, if anyone voted for DeVito, it means this site is NOT "The Home of the Most Informed Giants Fans."

Consider the source.

But only Montana and Young have won the SB for the 49ers. If the 49ers win they will have 3 SB winning QBS joining the the Giants, Former Redskins and Packers.

Hill should be OPOY

Quote from: MightyGiants on February 09, 2024, 10:19:09 AMSo you are all in favor of EXACT duplicate topics because the senior bowl practice discussion was broken out by practice day (like every football publication did it)  :what:  :surrender:

Wow don't know how you came to that conclusion. I've been very clear that I am against all the duplicate and multiple threads and feel they could all be consolidated into threads that are continuous. That's actually how it goes on the other sports forums I frequent.
