Big Blue Huddle / Re: Taylor Makes Giants History

That's something, I guess. I am more excited about us winning another game! And I am grateful to Taylor for being a part of it.  <:-P

If we actually get the ball to him, then hell yes.

Forget OBJ, he has the tools to be our next Amani Toomer.

Maybe we can do mass hypnosis on this team so they think it's 2022 again. When they had a lot of the same players and coaches, but were actually competitive and calling plays that worked. These Giants fold like a cheap suit in the first quarter and never recover.

Please correct me if this is a bad comparison, as Dick played before my time. But when you talk about guys who revolutionized the linebacker position and really took over the game, these are two of the names that come up.

Awesome content posted here from training camp so far. I couldn't be happier unless I was there myself.

I must admit that two of the players I doubted most, have done the most to prove me wrong this season.

The first is, you guessed it, Daniel Jones. I initially had high hopes for him, perhaps unreasonably high. How much of it was him and how much of it was poor coaching will be debated endlessly, but the bottom line is he was not putting the team on his back like we needed him to.

This year is different. Daniel is growing into the role. He's felt pressure coming, cut down on the turnovers, and helped us win when opponents shut down the run. Those are the biggest issues I had with him, and he's addressed all three.

The second player is Kayvon Thibodeaux. I thought he had bust written all over him, and said so. He's made me eat those words. The stats don't tell the story because he gets held constantly, but the guy is beasting. Seeing him live is downright scary; he seems to tower over everyone else on the field.

I would much rather see us win and be proven wrong than lose even more and be proven right. Another helping of crow, please!  :notworthy:

The Front Porch / Re: What is cryptocurrency?

Thanks, everyone, for the very informative replies! I got everything from common-sense explanations to a textbook-style description.

Any mention of the word "trading" is enough to make me distrust FTX and crypto in general. Also the fact that the whole company was run from the Bahamas. I'll stick with businesses that sell a real product and follow a real set of rules.

The Front Porch / What is cryptocurrency?

I started hearing about it several years ago. Didn't make any sense to me then, still doesn't now. Someone help?

It's in the news again because that FTX company went under, and people lost a lot of money, and the 20-something CEO is babbling about it in interviews.

I don't give a xxxx about my Constitutional right to own firearms. The other rights I still care about very much, but the government can have that one back any time. I'll manage.

Gotta go with Aerosmith, man. I don't love them, I don't hate them, but if I had to pick one band to represent America through music? They're the one I would choose.

Forged in Fire, the manliest reality/game show ever created. Just watching it adds hair to my chest and makes me want to burn down my house attempting to forge a blade.

The Weakest Link, one of the few remakes that outdoes the original. Still too many weird looking contestants on it, but it's tolerable.

Wall of Chefs, a Canadian cooking show wherein four home cooks attempt to impress a panel of famous chefs. (There absolutely should be an American equivalent of this.)

And The $100k Pyramid, because Michael Strahan is the host.

Possible, but not probable. Those guys most likely drowned before they could reach the mainland.

It's one of those legends that will persist throughout American history, like Paul Bunyan and the Maytag repairman. Nothing wrong with those.  <:-P
