One field on any given practice is the "main field".  It's the ones the cameras are focused on.   Get a seat in the stands in front of the main field and visibility is excellent, even better than the beat reporters have.  One good thing the team has done is they no longer use the far field in front of the Quest building on practices open to the public.

The Giants should be much better to the fans...in many ways.

I intend to write a letter to John Mara about the training camp fan experience.  There are plenty of ways they can improve on things. 

Eli is looking very sharp

Jones was moved to left guard today with Greco snapping (some of his snaps were less than ideal)

Wheeler and Becton swapped positions again.   Then Wheeler took LT with John Jerry at RT (with the twos)

I am really getting discouraged by what I see from Davis Webb.  Webb's targeting computer needs to be upgraded.  If someone insisted that Lauletta looked better, I would have a hard time arguing.

Barkley got some running snaps which was good to see

Today's press contingent was the smallest I have ever seen at Giants camp

It was brutally and I mean Brutally hot today.   The players even took a 10-minute cooldown break (inside) and the Giants kept reminding people to hydrate (but that didn't stop them from letting people stand in the blazing sun for an hour because they refuse to open up the gates early and let fans get under the awnings of the stands

Jawill Davis had a very good day in camp catching the football

After a hot start, Amba Etta-Tawo seems to have come down to earth.

S Curtis Riley is back at practice

Flowers had one of the best practices I have ever seen from him

Meeting Andrew who is the cycling champ was definitely the highlight.   

Eli Apple had a very nice practice

Webb had a very poor practice (to go along with a less than ideal practice yesterday).   Now we will see how he responds to some adversity.

I thought Gallman had a very good practice to go along with a very good camp.  I don't think Barkley got any snaps carrying the ball (but he did line up wide as a receiver).  Including a snap where he made Jenkins look foolish

Barwin is a crafty veteran who knows all the moves and have been embarrassing linemen all camp.

Got a look at the new OT and I think he has better feet than Flowers

On Lauletta, I see him as basically Chad Pennington, a really good QB, smart, moves well but with a mediocre arm. A QB that you absolutely can get fully behind and certainly win with if he stays healthy.   I'll be happy with Webb if he can show he's got it... but I think Eli's successor is on the roster and his name is Kyle... lol.  Just an opinion of course, but there it is.

The one issues with Lauletta is how long his arms are.   While he is 6' 3", his arms are only 30 5/8" long.   Mechanically the longer arm helps to increase velocity.   While I believe Lauletta can get stronger and improve his grip strength (will happen in the offseason, not during the season) which will improve his arm, I think those shorter arms of his will limit just how much velocity he can get on the ball.

First, let me tell you that 5 days in a row is too much.   I can't imagine how the players are holding up (Might explain the 2 fights today)

It was overcast and rather comfortable.

I know I posted an article about Webb looking good and I know Pat Traina is high on Webb.  Heck, I was cautiously optimistic about Webb.   That all said, I am not seeing it.   Webb misses by just a little on many of his passes.   That troubles me.     

On the plus side, I think Eli is looking better.   

The guy who has looked pretty impressive has been Lauletta.   Ed has noted that he has really nice footwork.   I think he has a good pocket presence and he has made a fair number of good plays.

One of the fights was caused by OV picking up Gallman on a running play and sort of dumping him on the ground.   Gallman didn't appreciate that and a scrum ensued. 

It looked like Latimore tweaked a quad.   He was being stretched by the training staff and then didn't participate much after that.

I saw Barkley bounce a run outside.   While you don't want him doing that often, it will produce big runs if used judiciously.

4. Davis Webb's best skill might be his ability to throw on the run. It's impressive. There was one play where he fired a 40-strike rolling right on the $$$ to Khalif Raymond for big gain (if it wasn't a sack). Raymond also had a strong practice for 2nd day in row #Daily5 #Giants

5. CB Donte Deayon had a great leaping INT deep down the left sideline early in practice. He continues to shine. But he later left with some kind of lower leg injury where he grabbed at the back of his leg. Maybe the hammy sniper. #Daily5 #Giants

I thought Flower and Wheeler looked pretty good today.

I thought Eli did well, Webb had a couple of good throws but there were others I was less impressed with.   Lauletta looked pretty good (as does Taney who actually impressed me. 

I watched Engram blocking twice.  Once he got tossed aside like a rag doll by OV (not that OV hasn't been abusing others) and the other he did a nice help block and then peeled off and did a nice second level block

RB Robert Martin from Rutgers has looked impressive

I think part of the reason Engram has looked so good catching passes is Shurmur/Shula are using him better by attacking the middle part of the field.


Solder has a major brace on his right arm protecting his elbow

I forgot to add there what I witnessed what I am pretty sure is a sign of the end of days.   A fan walked by me yesterday with a License Plate Guy t-shirt.   

I thought Flowers had a terrible stance when he lines up.   He is bending massively at the waste.   Worse, after the snap he pops straight up and has no ancho.

I thought Webb looked good and throws a nice ball (the exception being a pass he throw off his back foot that resulted in an easy INT)

It was good to see Snacks taking some snaps

There were some drills where Hill and Tomlinson switched sides

No one is able to cover OBJ, he looks uncoverable

Moss and Okwara did not look good in LB drills.  Ed pointed out they run like they are in quicksand compared to the other OLBs

Amba Etta-Tawo has the skinniest legs I have seen in some time, but he does have a really fluid stride
