Quote from: Philosophers on January 12, 2024, 02:04:10 PMGood summary.  Isn't that what our eyes have seen all season?  It's the offensive side that needs most of the help.  We have to continue investing in it.

I may be mistaken but I do recall reading some posts thinking the defense needs the most work idk 🤷🏼♂️. In my eyes, yes the defense could use some help but offense needs the most help and it isn't close imo. The defense just needs to get better at rushing the passer.

Good article. Giants clearly need a big boost to the offensive side of the ball. I think almost all the focus this off-season should be about the offense. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the Giants will be getting the franchise QB. However, getting a #1 WR, as well as, a stud olineman or two, shouldn't be too much to ask with the 6th pick in the first and 2 2nd round picks.

Makes sense with OU coming to the SEC. As Saban knew his days of dominating the SEC was over 😎

Quote from: drewsg on January 09, 2024, 03:45:43 PMIf a QB isn't there, then an EDGE should be the pick.. we really gotta get the pass rush going again.
Sounds good but what edge is worthy of the 6th overall pick?

If Penix were more accurate this game, the Huskies would likely be winning.

I'm all in on a WR but I am also smart enough to know if the line can't block and the QB can't throw the ball, a WR is just a shiny hood ornament!!! Just can't see the Giants draftng a LT just to move them to RT.  No guards are worth the 6th pick so the Giants are kind of in WR territory only at pick 6. No defensive players appear to be worth the 6th pick either.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 08, 2024, 02:20:28 PMI have heard people talk about Batman and Robin regarding pass rushers.   The Batman is the guy teams are scared of and game plan for.  The Robin is good but more of a complementary piece.

Right now, I think KT is more a Robin than a Batman.   When you draft a player 5th overall, you hope to land a Batman.

Good analogy! I too think Thibs is more Robin than Batman. Although, with Wink gone it will be interesting how the new DCoordinator will use Thibs and if Thibs will benefit from the new scheme.

I fully expect the Giants to strike while the iron is hot. The Giants, imo, will 100% take a Qb if either of Williams, Maye, or Daniel's is available at pick 6.  Next years QB class is not looking too hot compared to this years so waiting a year is not ideal. QB hell is what is staring the Giants in the face for years if they don't get a QB THIS year!!!

The defense wasn't the problem. The anemic offense was the problem all year

I believe Williams and Maye will be elite franchise QBs, so if the Giants can get either by moving up/staying put, they need to draft them. If the QBs are all gone by 6 and a trade up was not possible, select the best WR at 6. That WR could be Nabors or Odunze. Either one should help the offense tremendously. I don't think the Giants need to invest another high pick on the Oline and I don't believe a defensive player will be rated higher than the WRs.

I guess I just don't know the game. I could have swore Thibs was drafted to wreak havoc on opposing QBs. Unless my eyes deceive me Thibs has not even sniffed the QB in the last 4 to 5 games idk 🤷🏼♂️

Thibs is well active here.
How? Explain?
