Decent points, Rich. My one area of disagreement is around running back. I have no issues for the committee approach in order to save Cap space but I think there will be a decline in production for the Giants.

Barkley ran behind the same line that gets criticised for Jones' lack of production but rarely (not aiming this at you) is attributed to Barkley's struggles. I personally don't think that's reasonable. If the Eagles line is adequate, I think he'll have a very good season.

Other than that, I largely agree with your points.

I'd be interested in Campbell as a vet leader.

That D is really young.

Daniel is an astute young man. I'm sure he could read the tea leafs.

It's down to him to justify the pay cheque with both availability and performance.

Quote from: kartanoman on April 29, 2024, 09:01:34 AMit's hard not to be impressed with a sweep - especially when the games were split 2-2 in the regular season.

As you say, Bread was impressive. A real nuisance and the secondary offensive players really stepped up.

Overall, hugely impressive. Well done.

BTW, I am in complete envy of you being in Greece, a place I would absolutely love to visit one day. The aqua blue Mediterranean Sea against the beautiful backdrop of the country's seaside towns is where I would love to vacation and explore its ancient history one day.

Enjoy it to its fullest!

Peace!

Thank you my friend, it's beautiful and very different to the 5 degrees we left at home.

Thankfully my good lady was fine with watching the game this morning, but she did have a few too many Margaritas last night lol

I do think Zeke has a bit left in the tank but he's not the superstar he once was. From memory and not looking up the stats I thought he was so-so down the stretch for the Pats.

That depth chart ought to be concerning.

Quote from: Trench on April 29, 2024, 07:56:00 AMFor those who feel this argument is still worthwhile, I'd love to know Jones career record against the NFC East and the individual teams in our division.

8-12-1 with 5 wins against Washington.

I know the Caps were the easiest draw for the Rangers but it's hard not to be impressed with a sweep - especially when the games were split 2-2 in the regular season.

I think it's a solid draft. Scored it a 4.

However, with so many holes everywhere, this ought to be the bare minimum expectation.

I do think the OLine will be better - some nice additions and a new coach - I can see why they didn't prioritise that position.

I would have liked a QB but circumstances dictate the elite ones weren't ready. And reaching for a lesser prospect will only prolong the problems with the position.

I'm in Greece this week so I won't be able to watch live as it starts even later than in the UK. Will avoid twitter and this thread and watch first thing in the morning.

I think the Caps will push hard early but they are decimated on D and the Rangers have too much firepower.

I think the rangers will win a close one but I'm fully expecting some shenanigans from Wilson so we have to protect ourselves.

Rangers to close out the series and rest up.

Quote from: Bob In PA on April 28, 2024, 12:31:12 AMI think it came down to the trade for Burns.

With Pick 39, IMO they had enough ammo to buy Pick Three from the Pats (and take whomever - probably Maye).

So which would you rather have... Burns plus Nabers -or- Maye?  My favorite (Daniels) was already gone so I say they're better off with Burns and Nabers (and they still have next year's 1st-round pick in case they stink again this season).

Bob

I agree with you, Bob. I think that's the position they were in.

Burns and Nabers is a huge price to pay for the 3rd QB in any draft class.

Quote from: Ed Vette on April 27, 2024, 09:00:53 AMAlthough I think the Giants should keep Slay.

Better the devil you know, sometimes.

I'd keep him too

I'm guessing Jones is hoping so.

Right then, lads. Let's have it.

I got engaged this past Tuesday, we've been celebrating since. We are off to a Greek Island tomorrow so I have a cab in 4.5 hours. My approach of drinking through it and not napping ought to garner a reward.

Let's go 3 nil up but be prepared for the massive early Caps push.

LGR!
