Quote from: Ed Vette on November 12, 2024, 12:10:23 PMI know y'all hate Jerry Jones, but he's devoted his life to them thar Cowboys. I wouldn't mind it if he won one championship before he leaves this good earth. (Don't tell Lenn I said that)

Another reason to add an "Unlike" option   <:-P

So glad we hung on to him!   /sarcasm/

I was on the fence in regards to Schoen.  His lack of anything at the deadline, as well as hanging on to Slayton and Ojulari, pushed me solidly into the "He is not good at his job" side!

Both players will be gone next year and the team is not going anywhere this year.  A bag of used footballs would have been good enough for me.  They may actually contribute to an extra win and a loss of several draft spots for nothing.  I think Schoen is in over his head!  :surrender:

You all present very logical and probable reasons.  Thanks for the input.  I'd still love to see a former Giant great leading the team.  Dare to dream.

Why do you think Carl hasn't gotten into coaching?  He seems to be aware of how todays NFL works and he has his finger on the pulse of the players.  Just curious.  I know not everyone can be a great coach but i believe Carl could.

Quote from: GloryDays on October 28, 2024, 05:14:59 PMI wanted Ladd McConkey, we could have safely traded down to around 20 and get him plus other picks. Last night he got over 120 yards and two TDs!

Would have been cool to see a McConkey jersey running around again!

He is a stud and really fun to watch....I mean, what else is there to watch
I also feel like we're wasting his talents and he'll be either gone or a shell of himself once we return to competitiveness   :surrender:

Quote from: sxdxca38 on October 17, 2024, 11:11:35 AMI believe you play Daniel Jones for the full year regardless of what happens. Benching him only leads to further doubt, as it will leave more questions unanswered. If you play him for the full year and he fails well then you get your answer, however if he's able to rise above the occasion, then you get your answer. Either way the answer will become clear, however benching him will not solve that equation.

Just my opinion.

Playing Jones all year, when all indications seem to point to a non-playoff year, is very bad for 2 main reasons:
First, if he gets injured, he activates his injury clause and we're "stuck" with him next year.
Second, he's just good enough to win a few meaningless games, putting us further out of reach of the top draftees.
But wish what you may   :surrender:

Quote from: Giant Obsession on October 04, 2024, 04:42:07 AMANOTHER in a long time of examples showing how woeful (near worthless) this organization is at judging football talent.

Period.

And the beat goes on.

In looking back at drafting Thibs and Neal, and signing Burns, I don't think it's bad talent evaluation.  I believe just about every other team having the option to draft / sign these players, would have.  They all had high ceilings, at least on paper.  So the only conclusion I can draw is our coaches responsible for teaching and training these guys must be flawed.  Also, I don't think we bring guys in that fit the system we have or are designing.   :-??

Are we having this lengthy discussion because some here actually feel like he is improving and is the answer as our QB moving forward and into the future?   I can understand the responses trying to prove he is underwhelming and at best a back-up but i'm perplexed as to why anyone would defend him other than his being a seemingly good person and teammate.
