Quote from: T200 on November 10, 2024, 11:45:28 PMWhen did he say that? Got a link?

Sorry, just seeing this and I'm unable to copy a link on my phone....but if you Google "Daboll: We will evaluate" a bunch of links come up.

Well, Daboll is now saying they will "evaluate" all positions, including QB.  "Evaluate", in these circumstances, is the kiss of death.  DJ will not play another down for the Giants.

I think Daniel Jones has started his last game for the Giants.  It's Lock and maybe some DeVito from here on out.

Quote from: bamagiantfan on November 08, 2024, 09:10:04 AMIt is another chance for Hyatt to (finally) step up.

If not now, when?  Panthers have the 32nd ranked overall defense. OK, a little better against the pass - 23rd....but still, this is Hyatt's best opportunity to date.  Show up.

Quote from: TDToomer on November 06, 2024, 08:16:25 PMI agree on Ojulari but it seems like nobody here wants any of our drafted players resigned and just go for the cheaper option.

No way are Thibs or Burns getting traded.

I think Thibs is a good, not great player, who will leveridge the Giants into overpaying him at the end of his rookie deal. He gets his sacks with speed and surprise.  Rarely have I seen him beat a block and get to the QB.

Hey, don't look now but Ojulari is becoming the player we hoped he'd develop into after his rookie year. He's 24.  Are we so sure we want to let him walk and keep Thibodeaux (23), who would get more in a trade and be more expensive to sign at the end of his rookie contract?
I'd consider trading Burns, too but his play this year and his contract makes him a less valuable trade chip.

I see Daboll doing a good job scheming people open.  It's a complicated Offense, though and DJ just doesn't process quickly enough to get it to them.

Washington controls the ball all day but settle for 3's, so it stays closer than it feels....until they hit a couple of big plays and cash in on a turnover. Commies win, 27-13.  Certainly, I'd give the 4 points.

Quote from: MightyGiants on October 17, 2024, 01:03:19 PMI have been wondering if our defense is as good as they seem.  One thing I have observed over the years is that when a team gets a lead against a team with an unproductive offense (like the Giants), they tend to get more conservative and reign things in a bit offensively.

I think one indicator that this might be happening is that when the Giants take the lead or threaten to take the lead, suddenly, the opposing offense is able to score.

I wonder how the defense would perform if opposing teams expected the Giants to score over 20 points in a game.

I do think opposing teams know the Giants aren't going to break the scoreboard, allowing for a more conservative approach on the risk/reward paradign.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Nabers officially out for Sunday

Looks like Singletary is out, too.  I'm very surprised the point spread only went up a half point, from 6.5 to 7.  I fear a one-sided affair.

Washington is giving Daniels a clean pocket; he has all day to throw to receivers who are often wide open.  They've put him in a user friendly offense and as a result, he has the look of an instant star.

Eli would have had a lower rating and he would have won the game.

The QB that's impressed me has been Miller Moss, of USC.  Very poised and accurate under pressure.  I'm surprised he doesn't get more mention.

I know.  When I come across these, "yes, you did!"...."no, I didn't!"....."yes, you did!", threads, I just keep scrolling until I get back to what I come here for - intelligent Giant fans discussing football and the team we love.

He won't - or Daboll won't - throw the effing ball up the effing field!!!!!  I an SO effing sick of 5 yard passes on 3rd and 9, and hope the receiver makes somebody miss. Hope is not a strategy!  His average pass distance has got to be among the lowest, if not the lowest in the league.
