I only watch games I don't care about with them. Otherwise I need to be laser focused like a psycho.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Latest draft order
December 19, 2023, 08:26:07 PM
I want a QB that is going to be able to throw all over the field and hit open WRs in stride. Large part of that is having the time to do it. Draft me the top OL, then grab either Nix or McCarthy if we want, or wait till next year since Jones is under contract anyway.

This is from an ESPN + article about the QBs in the draft....

""You know who's going to go higher than anyone thinks?" asked an AFC East scout last week via text. "J.J. McCarthy."

The Michigan quarterback is loved by scouts who have studied his game and have seen the junior passer throw in person. McCarthy is efficient; he has posted a QBR of 89.2, good for third in the nation, while throwing 19 touchdown passes to four interceptions.

"I think a lot of people haven't done a deep dive on McCarthy yet," said a scout who covers the Michigan area, "but when they do, he's going to rise. He would dominate an event like the Senior Bowl."

The main knock on McCarthy's game this year has more to do with the Wolverines than his skill set. Michigan's scheme doesn't ask for a lot of pure passing from him. The Wolverines run the ball early and often, with McCarthy attempting only 287 passes this season (77th in the FBS) and averaging 19.3 per game against their three ranked opponents toward the end of the season. He didn't attempt a single pass in the second half of a 24-15 win over Penn State in mid-November!"

You're an OC but you can't design plays to get your speedster WR into one on one coverage? If they have safety over the top, design a play to pull the safety away or something.

I see every other team has their top WRs getting 5+ targets every game. I know sometimes you need time from the oline for a play to develop, but comeon every single thing can't be on the oline.

Or can it.

Quote from: Giant Obsession on December 18, 2023, 09:10:31 PMIf Schoen is smart he might want to put a little distance between himself and our HC.

It is time for feet to the fire regarding our game performances, coaching staff, etc.

Unfortunately for us, Daboll has one more year with DJ. Similar results and they're both gone and Schoen can start over with his and a new coach's QB pick.

I will tear my eyes out of my face if I see another rush attempt straight up the middle, or a 2 yard dump pass on 3rd and long.

I hate him. I hate Bobby Johnson. I don't hate Daboll yet but the fact he hasn't fired these ass clowns make me question if I should like him

Jordan Love isn't good, I think our D will shock him. Will we be able to show up on offense? Lets go cutlets

I get the feeling that Jones knows he somehow fleeced the giants for 40 mil, and now he's too scared to expose himself for what he is, so he won't take the shots downfield because he constantly misses those and knows it makes him look real bad

Pretty sure PFF grades off of every single play.

Before firing Schoen he should fire himself. Need a president of football ops. Mara can no longer have any say

I mean no brainer. If he went with Tyrod there would have been a mutiny

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on November 30, 2023, 01:46:51 PMMaybe I'll be wrong, but I have material doubts about Wink being a head coach at any point in the future. He has been a DC for a while now, and in Baltimore he was much more successful than he has been here. I feel like if it was ever going to happen, it would have by now. Are there examples of 60-plus year old first time head coaches who have at least seven years of NFL offensive or defensive coordinator experience? Perhaps there are, but nobody comes to mind.
I also never liked the thought of D Coordinator as your headcoach. Just not the type of football I like to watch IMO. Again, BB is the exception to the rule. Seems he's the exception to every rule

Quote from: B1GBLUE on November 30, 2023, 12:34:24 PMI watched a ton of Daniels highlights this morning. he looks awesome. but what i also took from it is that nabers is awesome- reminds me of deebo with his YAC ability. also brian thomas i think his name is? is a legitamate deep threat. no way we'd get daniels and naber 1 and 2, but daniels and the other WR in the 2nd is a big possibility.
Cincy did it with Burrow and Chase and they look electric. Nabers would be a stretch but Daniels and Thomas would still be an amazing haul. Then all oline.

Quote from: MightyGiants on November 30, 2023, 01:20:01 PMThe Athletic's Mike Sando (one of the two actual writers that media leech Dan Benton used for his article) made some very good points in his article.

Daboll did something a bit unusual when he put together his staff.  He hired many coaches that he had never worked with before or knew well.  While this would seem like the best way to optimize a coaching staff, it does seem like it would increase the chances of friction between coaches.
Especially when Wink interviewed for the HC job in the past. Doesnt seem like the type of guy that's gonna take xxxx from a guy who has proven nothing and took the job he was looking to get.

Sigh, NYG football baby.

Quote from: uconnjack8 on November 30, 2023, 11:17:43 AMSo was he not supposed to be on the field?  Is that why he was suspended?  Just not understanding what the issue was with this.

What am I missing here?

He's either part of the team's or NFL's social media team, down on the field to record videos for Instagram, Twitter, all that crap. He was doing his job, the NFL just hates fun. If you watched the video, Tyreek tried to save the kid by saying "he didn't want me to take the phone". I'm sure Tyreek is also sending that kid a TON of money to make up for it. Will probably hire him as his personal social media guy too. At least I hope for the kid's sake
