Frankly, considering they are on the hot seat, they should be fired if they don't do what they think is best for the team. That would be true if they had a hands off owner. You don't find the owners of successful franchises publicly talking so much about personnel moves.

Quote from: Philosophers on Today at 02:39:53 PMDidnt the numbers say for 6 games we were average? Is that our standard? Average? For only 6 games? Why do people assume Thomas will play 17 games? He has not done so and not been close to 17 games. They ranked from 10th-16th in that time frame and that is solid. 10-16 is significantly better than what we are used to and that was with 5 guys that had never played together, which stands to reason that they would get better with reps and the new oline coach. Us drafting olinemen hasn't panned out, so just sign FAs and be done with it. Russell Wilson is more than capable of throwing deep with a top 10-16 line.
Quote from: nb587 on Today at 03:56:49 PMIf they draft Sanders, its my opinion that they were told to by Mara or believed that they had to because of his public (and unnecessary) proclamation about getting a franchise QB this year. Either is not good
Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 03:40:23 PMI agree, with the addition of Wilson and Winston, Schoen and Daboll shouldn't feel a need to "reach" for Sanders to fill a need. The may still draft him because they believe he will become a good franchise QB, but the pick shouldn't be out of desperationIf they draft Sanders, its my opinion that they were told to by Mara or believed that they had to because of his public (and unnecessary) proclamation about getting a franchise QB this year. Quote from: Gmo11 on Today at 03:37:57 PMThey deserve everything they've gotten from that ridiculous trade/contract.
Quote from: Gmo11 on Today at 03:37:03 PMYes...but...it's a lot different passing on Hunter or Carter in order to take Sanders if you only have Winston or Wilson in the room already. If you have both, you'd have to be pretty damn sure Sanders is a super star in the making to pass on guys who it would be considered shocking if they were NOT super stars in short order.
Everything they've done to this point indicates they're not too worried about the future right now. So I fully expect the pick to be either Carter or Hunter. They will probably draft a QB later in the draft perhaps the late 3rd rounder or 4th rounder. But the first 3 picks I would guess are players that they believe at least MIGHT start from day 1.
