I think the grade is too high.

The offense is rather inept, and the defence has potential and flashes a little, but last week proved it's not a consistent game-changer.

With that in mind, I'd be more mindful to give a grade in the C/C+ range. There are pieces - but that's about it.

Silly exercise as it is, if I gave it much thought, I'd probably give a C to the Cows and a C+ to the Jints.

Cheers!

I think he's grading on performance compared to expectations, not just straight performance.

They are grades for the 2024 season.   So I would think they factored in where the teams were at the end of 2023 when handing out the grades

Offense D-
Defense C+
Special Teams B

Big plays against the Defense, missed FGs. Lack of Offensive TDs. They average a C-
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

I pretty much agree with the grades, although I might drop the Giants to a "C". The writing on the wall though, is that Washington is the team in our division for which we must be aware. They've been collecting talent everywhere across the board the last few years, but the QB, and suddenly...they got their QB. Washington is going to sneak up on a lot of teams this year thinking they are same old Redskins...excuse me...Comraders of the past. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a strong run at the SB this year and be a threat in our division for the next few years

Dallas is a mess and I don't see it getting any better. They had their chance the last few years and blew it when the opportunity stared them in their face...now it's time for Jerruh to blow up the team from top to bottom and start over. Eagles are the Eagles of old - solid team, but ain't special anymore

Giants are a little like Washington as we are a QB away from being special (IMHO), although they do need to improve the offensive line. I can vision them trading up for their QB of choice, and spending early picks on the OL in next year's draft. The defense is pretty good, and very young. They'll be even better next season, barring injuries of course
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

I would give Washington an INC.  I didn't doubt Jayden Daniel's talent, I was concerned about his durability based on his small frame and aggressive playing style.  He already missed some of the Colts game with a rib injury and is questionable this week.  So, I would like to see Daniels prove he is physically able to handle the beatings one receives in the NFL before giving Washington such a high grade.

I am fine with the Eagles

I think they might of graded Dallas a bit low

I am thinking a C for NYG

Fair assessment. I have an idea that Washington has Daniels on a weight gaining, muscle building regiment. Others have sustained an NFL career who were not that much different. Lamar Jackson 6-2/205 lbs; Patrick Mahommes 6-2/220 lbs; Jayden Daniels 6-4/205 lbs. I wouldn't be surprised he's already added a few pounds and by next year will probably be 220 or more...time will tell I guess  :-??

Remember, Daniels refused to be weighed at the Combine.  So, I take his Pro-Day 210 (at 6' 4") with a huge grain of salt.   I tend to believe the rumors that his natural weight is a bit under 200 pounds, which is a major outlier in terms of BMI (even 210 pounds is a bit of an outlier).

The critical question for the Redskins is can they avoid the RG3 fate for Daniels.

I give the Giants a C- just for sheer ineptitude on offense. If this includes coaching my score drops to a D.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

The QB play is skewing how the rest of the team is currently playing.

The team is league-average QB play away from having 1-3 more wins (Dallas, Washington, and/or Cincinnati).

Having a kicker that can hit FGs probably helps too.

Based on their reasoning, I can agree with it, since it is relative to expectations going into the season, still frustrating as hell though.

I do disagree about McKinney personally. Giving that contract to him would not have made much sense.

I agree the core of the secondary is solid. I am not sure of Banks is a surefire #1 CB yet, but at worst he is a strong #2. We either need a bonafide #1, or another strong #2 on the boundary to round this group out, I hope they keep Pinnock as well.
