Do you agree with these NFC East season grades by 33rd team?

It depends how you look at it.

If the idea was to grade against a 100-point base (a PERFECT team) then the Giants' grade is obviously too high.

However, the fact that the Giants are graded higher than the Cowboys caused me to wonder whether they were grading each team against their own opinion of each team's ROSTER STRENGTH, in which case I believe all four grades are quite accurate.  In short, Commanders are far outperforming their overall roster strength, Giants just slightly so (about the same for Eagles) and Cowboys are under-performing.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Quote from: Hadron on October 25, 2024, 10:42:29 AMThe QB play is skewing how the rest of the team is currently playing.

The team is league-average QB play away from having 1-3 more wins (Dallas, Washington, and/or Cincinnati).

Having a kicker that can hit FGs probably helps too.

I look at Drew Lock vs the Eagles.

First with the Seahawks (last season)-  QBR- 58.3  QB rating- 94.0

Then with the Giants-  QBR- 7.8  QB rating- 45.8

I think there is more wrong with this offense than the quarterback

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on October 24, 2024, 03:43:36 PMFair assessment. I have an idea that Washington has Daniels on a weight gaining, muscle building regiment. Others have sustained an NFL career who were not that much different. Lamar Jackson 6-2/205 lbs; Patrick Mahommes 6-2/220 lbs; Jayden Daniels 6-4/205 lbs. I wouldn't be surprised he's already added a few pounds and by next year will probably be 220 or more...time will tell I guess  :-??
I dint think just weight is the issue. It's the thin, skinny upper body frame that's the concern. Don't know for a fact, but I'd find it hard to believe that this issue wouldn't have been addressed by now. Or perhaps Daniels just refuses to participate in weight training, diet and a supplement regimen?

Bottom line is that if he continues to play with that upper body, his future will not be good. It's only a matter of time before someone leads with his helmet right into his chest.

It's more than that.  Much like Daniel Jones, Daniels is a very aggressive runner who doesn't shy away from contact (to his own detriment).

The sample size is far too small to get a good feel for the situation. I'm not saying he needs Daniel Jones' leash (and six years of nonsense) but more than a handful of games?

Garbage time after Daboll pulled starters against Philly?

Seattle? He had some up and down play but did manage some good play out there (including that comeback win against Philly).

The Eagles pulled starters, the Giants didn't.   Other than Jones, the Giants continued with their starters

Interesting side note.  Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey will be missing oractice for a while, but not games, because he has jury duty.

I am surprised by this.  The NFL season is about a third of the year.  You would think a judge could/would move the service time to a time he wouldn't be missing games.

B- seems incredibly generous for a 2-5 team.

When I think of what a B- grade is, at least when I was in school, that was more or less average. The Giants are not average.

I saw elsewhere that the Cowboys wanted him to ask for his service to be deferred but he wouldn't.  But it doesn't look like he'll miss games, and he is practicing, just after his jury day ends.  Fortunately he doesn't need the whole team there for him to be able to practice, just snapper, holder, snd somebody to run after the footballs.

Hmm, I have heard about grade inflation.  Just not in this context.

Why? Regular working folks have to miss time from their jobs too. He plays a game for a living... I don't think he should get preferential treatment.

Misread the post game stuff.

Regardless, one quarter is hardly enough to gauge a backup QB.

To answer the question, his job has many months of down time when serving wouldn't interfere with work.   Most people don't have that sort of employment.   Jury duty is a civic obligation, it's not a punishment.   The idea is to serve without causing undo hardship.  It's undo to make him serve during his working months when it's just as easy for him to serve during his down time.
