Quote from: Trench on November 18, 2024, 08:48:24 AMIt's about time they realize what he was.

It's also scary it took them so long to realize it.

Jones is a nice person, hard worker, with decent skills. He will have a long career as a backup if he so chooses. He will help a good team and he will have some success coming in as a backup when the starter gets hurt as teams aren't scheming against him on a week to week basis.
They (Schoen and Daboll) realized it when they were still in Buffalo. It was all about getting Mara to see it. My hope is that he keeps his mouth shut about who he likes and doesn't like. Let the people he hired to do their damn jobs!

It's the right time and the right move. Let Lock DeVito get the first team reps. If it looks like he's going to win a game, throw Jones back in.

Fixed it lol

Somewhere Blue Cruz is yelling "I told you so..."

This was the totally predictable, correct and inevitable move.  It's time to turn the page and FINALLY move forward.

I hope you're right. If you're not, and they actually believed this guy was a franchise QB then we got big problems

I do not think Mara will intervene.

I think he understands that they know what they are doing and will let them pick their guy.

Daboll on HK wanted Daniels, worked with Allen and several other top QBs. His reactions in Carolina showed he was fed up with Jones, I think they will be fine, it is ultimately going to be a matter of extreme due diligence and them actually liking one of these guys in this draft.

DeVito is the right call, he is an ERFA and will be back, Lock likely will not be. Give him more time, see if he can be the #2 at least. I think he can.

There's not one iota of evidence that points to them believing Jones was the future of this franchise.

They will get exactly one shot at picking THEIR QB.

I'm actually shocked they went with Devito (and not Lock who makes more $).

I'm looking forward to the next few games. Devito should get a game or two before the excess criticism (or excessive Linsanity) hype becomes gospel.

The evidence I have was the words that came out of their own mouths. Also the words that came out of Carl Banks mouth.

But to your point the other evidence was Hard Knocks where it was clear Daboll wanted Daniels bad.

The Giants are in my blood so for the sake of my fandom and the franchise I will be rooting for them to lose every one of their remaining games. A win down the road is, in reality, a loss.

What happened to BC?

Syanora Danny Pennies and Nickles.

7 games where the Giant's leadership can't blame Daniel Jones.  Let us see how well they play and how many games they win.

Accountability is for more than just Daniel Jones.

I'd rather have Lock than DeVito. We need to lose as many games as possible to get to the #1 spot. Lock gives us that chance.

DeVito won us meaningless games last year and we've spent the better part of this season wishing he didn't. Deja vu all over again.

This isn't a move to win games. It's a move to preserve cap space next year and position the team to get a high draft pick.

That is all they should get, I would give them 2 seasons, run out Dabolls contract. If no improvement then moving on makes sense. Otherwise we extend him.

With the Giants starting DeVito, I really wonder why the team wasted $5 million on Lock and how good are Schoen and Daboll at identifying QB talent (if they spent $5 million on Lock only to start DeVito)
