In today's NFL the ability to get the ball out quick and make plays on the run is huge. Milroe can do this

Also the willingness to be aggressive downfield and accept a mistake when it happens.

Bewteen now and the end of the year , Jacksonville and Tenn play each other twice and Jacksonville plays the Raiders once.

I'd argue that Ole Miss and Ohio St easily have the best 2 wr rooms in the country and it isnt remotely close.

Between now and the end of the year The Jags and Titans play each other twice and the Jags play the Raiders once.

So, if we lose out , which I do not think will happen , but if it does , the worst we would have  is the third pick .However, if Jags and Titans split and the Raiders beat the Jags, we would have the number 1 pick.

The Giants have a long history of winning meaningless games that sink their draft position. Frankly, that pattern of losing lots of games early to be out of contention by Halloween (or shortly thereafter) and only winning when the team is no longer realistically in the playoff hunt is about the worst possible pattern for fans to endure.

Taking Milroe at 5, as this mock suggests, is overdrafting him by a round, IMO.  He is going to blow up the combine though and maybe Top 10 is only way to get him.

That said, if the Giants were to get him then I'd pray they get a bridge QB for a year because Milroe needs the Jordan Love, Patrick Mahomes plan.  Sit and watch and learn from experience.  People forget Mahomes sat his entire rookie year (save for a Week 17 start).  He came from a spread system and needed that year.  Milroe needs the year because he came to Alabama as an athlete playing QB and, while he has improved each year, is still an athlete playing QB - just at a higher level now.  Sitting and learning more nuances to QB position will be critical for him. Again, in my opinion.

They need a bridge QB no matter who they draft. It's the best way to go for a young QB.

The Jags won't draft a QB so I am rooting for the Titans and Raiders in those games. Of course they could trade away their pick.

The latter is always the challenge.  If on of the prospects shows more by draft day to the point of being considered worthy of the first overall pick, the team at one will either draft the QB or trade it away.

Also, with the Jags in particular, they might consider drafting a QB and then trading Trever Lawerence.  This would allow the Jags to rebuild with a cheaper rookie QB.
