And you thought you were significant  :P

"The world's population – 7.8 billion people – might seem like a huge number, but humans represent just 0.01% of all living things on Earth. Plants, primarily trees, dominate life on Earth, representing 82% of all living matter. Surprisingly, in second place is the life we cannot see: microscopic bacteria account for 13% of all living matter. All other creatures, from insects to fungi to fish and animals, make up just 5% of the world's biomass. It is estimated that the total mass of even arthropods is equivalent to 17 times the mass of human beings"
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Interesting.

I'd like to see what the numbers look like if you strip out all plant and microbiological matter and just focus on the animal kingdom.
