Splurging

I guess my splurge is having newer cars. I'm into my second 3 year lease. We traded my wife's 7 year old CRV for a new CRV last year.

I like the excitement and reliability of a new car. I like not having to deal with mechanics frequently as they often try to BS customers into things they don't need.

 Since reading some of the answers, it reminded me of another thing, I didn't splurge on but was bought for me, well above what I would have spent.
I do most of the cooking at home, and I have always tried to have a good chef's knife. I saw one costing well over $100, something I probably never would have spent on just one knife, but my darling wife bought it for me when I retired and I use this basically every day since then. Sharpened it a few times along the way, but it is my pride and joy.
