Heading back for Mohs surgery - curious about something

I go back to have another Mohs surgery on my face in a couple of weeks...another scar, another life battle with Squamous...no biggie IMO

However, I am concerned about another spot that my dermatologist refused to biopsy and will leave that to the Mohs surgeon. The spot to be removed is on my right cheek, near where my short sideburns meets no other hair or whiskers. No problem - easy access, easy fix. The spot I'm worried about though is in the inside corner of my eye...not the eyeball, but in the corner of my eyelid. I will know more after my surgery for the other part. I just don't like knives around my eyeball, especially since Mohs surgery usually goes way beyond the spot to be removed in order to "get it all" 

My question: Has anyone ever tried "Image-Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy" (Gentle Cure) that has been advertised on TV lately. It claims to heal Basal and Squamous cell cancer without Mohs surgery with a 99+% of success. I was wondering if any of you guys who routinely go to skin specialists have heard of it...or better, tried it

Sorry Ric I have not. As most know I have had 4 surgeries for melanoma and just had another 'suspicious'mole taken off the top of my head for a biopsy. Thank God it was benign but it is still scary stuff. Seems everytime I go to the dermatologist I am getting something removed. That's I go every 3 months. I also go for an eye exam every year as I have told that behind the eyeball is a site melanoma can form.
I think your case is different Ric and I wish you well at it. I personally don't understand why the dermatologist doesn't want to do a test beforehand.
Again I'm sure everything will be fine.

Well, I got my Mohs surgery overwith and the pain is not too bad. I have a big bulging bandage on my face, but at least my eyes didn't turn black like the last time. The surgeon didn't biopsy around my eyelid and sent a referral to a place in Syracuse that specializes in cancer treatment and reconstruction of the eyelid and surrounding areas...yay! 

Leaving for Wisconsin tomorrow to help my son move, even though I have strict orders from my doctor to not lift anything heavy for 10 days. He says his friends out there will take care of moving stuff, so that's good. I hate the trip, especially driving on 90 through Chicago, which can be a real nightmare if you hit it at the wrong time. I've done that several times in the last few years, and it's no fun. Should be back by Tuesday at the latest...knock on wood
