Three former Giants on the list and one is listed as a current Giant (kind of undermines the integrity of the article IMO)

#6 Kevin Zeitler - too bad the cap was a total mess
#23 Will Hernandez - flopped as a Giant
#31 Mark Glowinski - was surprised he made the list and the writer thinks he is still a Giant.

Notable that none of the FA signings made the list.

Ed Vette

Take note of the teams who have two Guards on this list.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."
~ Coach Tom Coughlin

If you want to build a competitive team, you figure out a way to keep Kevin Zeitler. You don't cut him under the guise of cap constraints and then use the money on a washed up Kyle Rudolph and Kenny Golladay.

You don't get to say on one hand we can't protect our "franchise" QB (even if that description is aspirational), and on the other hand we can't afford to pay our most reliable OL.

Zietler's play had noticeably declined that year. Interesting how his play improved once he wasn't offered a contract from the Giants

I believe it's all connected at the guard position. Depends upon the RBs, the other Olinemen, the staff, and mostly the abilities of the QB to make reads and decisions all influences a guard rating/eye test stuff

Same thing with safeties.  Talent does not better on Giants due to some factor.

Considering the Giants have 3 guys on the list who aren't with them anymore, it validates the point that the problem has been the Giants, not the players.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

This. There are so many examples of guys being "trash" or not good Olinemen just to leave and play great elsewhere. Even a few udfa Olinemen that are playing great, it's wild.

I will say this about Zeitler: He showed signs with the Giants that he was suffering from age-related decline. With older veterans, you keep an eye out for the pattern where they start the season strong but fade toward the end of the season. It seems that the struggles Zeitler suffered involved playing O-line with NYG rather than his own limitations.
