NFT: NY Rangers 2024-25 season thread

New league year started with FA.  Uneventful for the Rangers, which is fine.  Would have like Marchessault for the deal he got.  If they are moving Trouba, I thought Brenden Dillon or Matt Roy would have been a good replacement, but they both got bigger contracts than I would have wanted Drury to give.

Season opener is 10/9 in Pittsburgh.  Home opener 10/12 vs Utah.  Rest of schedule tomorrow.

Maybe now they will learn to stop giving out no trade clauses like candy.  If a guy won't come here then so be it.  Now the team once again sits there against the cap, arguably becoming a weaker team and can do very little to change anything.

I read that and said, "Too effin bad."  They have enough money, the can afford to hire her some help with the baby while she is working.  Or, he can retire for all I care.   No idea if it is allowed, but maybe they discussed if he doesnt trade him this year, he will accept a trade anywhere the following season?  When I say I don't know if it is allowed, I mean not sure if the contract can be altered officially.

It was discussed. I remember him talking about it when he first came here.  He wanted the 3 year NMC because that was supposed to cover her residency.  Then, her residency was either delayed a year, suspended, but on hold.  Not sure if it was due to covid or if was maternity leave related, but it was extended another year.

I've been an active pro sports fan for over 40 years now. This Trouba/spouse situation is definitely a first for me insofar as its relevance to what the player's team would like to do with its roster.
