At the 13:00 (approx) mark, Mike Lombardi starts his weekly rant about Joe Schoen and the Giants.  I will confess, I sort of agreed with Mike's comment of where he talked about how if he was GM he would be telling his people to stop hanging out in my office and go do some work.  He also had an interesting observation (I don't recall seeing it) about how Joe Schoen would be looking at his phone while watching tape rather than removing all distractions and studying tape.

I wondered why you were so amused by those who have the ability to learn from the show (even in ways HKs and NYG probably didn't intend or realize were possible).   I think part of the difference in opinions comes from the perspective of where you are watching the show.  Mike Lombardi comes from the perspective of having been there and done that.  So he knows what he is looking at and what he should and shouldn't be seeing.   I have read multiple books written by GMs, listened to many GMs via podcasts, and read books on the draft and how NFL teams work during the offseason.  So, while I am nowhere near Mike Lombardi, I have some idea of what I should and shouldn't be seeing.

That said, while I think Mike is a bit off on some of his points (for example, he didn't listen to Joe Schoen on the HK podcast where he explains some of the things that happened that didn't make the show), I think in many other cases the points Mike is making are pretty much spot on, especially in terms of leadership and team building.

I thought one interesting point Mike and Femi raised-  Does John Mara look like an owner who is happy with how the team is doing (at least during the part of the offseason we have seen so far)?

The show wants drama.  If there is none, the fans of the show will create it even if it's not there.  Therefore, read every facial expression, every suspect gaze, every bit of body language and speculate away.  Be entertained.

Wait a second, you literally mocked me and others by calling my commentary "comical," and you are trying to turn this around and paint me as "condescending" with my restrained reply???? 

Perhaps you would get what you perceive as less "condescending" responses if you weren't mocking others.  I have learned quite a bit, but I have an eye for detail, and I am pretty intuitive when filling in missing pieces.  Plus, I watched the show twice because I found that I missed quite a bit the first go around.

Clearly, I learned a lot more from the 3 episodes of 42 minutes each, than you believe is possible.  So the difference in opinion is that I believe there is a great deal that can be learned from seeing what goes on inside 1925 Giants Way, and you believe it's just entertainment and nothing or very little can be gleaned from the show.   Is that a more respectful (as well as accurate) description of our differing opinions?
