The reason the Giants allowed the behind the scenes access they have on Hard Knocks: they believe in their process. They believe in Joe Schoen and the staff he has around him.

Their expectation: what they show will earn more respect than criticism. Off shoot gamble: fans will see they have their 💩 together.

I thought "as voiced by Art Stapleton" implied this is what Art, as a beat reporter, believed the team's expectations were.

In that case, it's hard to answer your question since we don't know what their expectations of the show are.

Nothing they air on the show will have any bearing on what happens on the field. It's a multi-page/video/show press release authored by the NFL and the Giants.

Now, if it was during the season... I'd feel a little differently about it.

The show is authored by Hard Knocks.  The show decides the narratives and stories they want to tell.  The Giants can nix a given segment if they feel it could hurt them competitively, but neither the Giants nor the NFL gets to decide the story or how it is told.

Assuming Art is correct about NYG's expectations, have they met those expectations so far?
