Nice to see an outsider finally say something nice about the Giants. I do agree that 7 on 7 drills can lead to bad habits. The addition of an offensive line coach that has proven to have success can turn around a franchise

I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

Last season the Lions kicking our butts in the shared practices was the harbinger of doom. This year we stood toe to toe and at least matched them, maybe edged them. We can hope that is a herald of better days to come.
If you live your life as a pessimist you never really live your life at all.

I already bet the over on 6.5 wins.  I think 7 is minimum and Giants win 8 pretty easily.  A lot rides on the secondary - if secondary holds up and is average to slightly above average the Giants D will be legit.

It's almost impossible to gauge wins and losses now. You look at team names...say Seattle. Is that a win? Do we know if they have improved or gotten weaker? Or Atlanta? Or New Orleans. Those are all winnable games on paper at this moment. The fans of those teams are making their own predictions and seeing the Giants as a win; they don't know the improvements the Giants have made. So it's a crapshoot. No one knows anything now.

If the three "strategic imperatives," coming into season 2024 are rated green (on target) or blue (ahead of target), then I would be open to consider nine (9) wins as an achievable target for the Giants.

SI1. Fix the damn Offensive Line
Rating: -

SI2. Narrow the gap between the Giants and their key division rivals (i.e. Dallas and Philadelphia)
Rating: -

SI3. Improve from last year's Lost Man-Games Due To Injury metric
Rating: -

Let's see how they do.

Peace!

O line play is the big x factor for me. We have seen the team win 9 games with this coach and this QB before, so it's not like anyone can say it's impossible. Admittedly that team had Barkley and this one doesn't, but that team didn't have Nabers and it didn't have Burns either.

With this new coach and new additions, if the O line is materially better than last year (I'm just saying IF), I think 9 wins is not all that implausible. We could be looking at having our best pass rush and best O line in years this year. Those are both big deals.
