Nick Falato breaks down the All-22 Tape of Anthony Johnson Jr. - the safety Joe Schoen claimed off waivers from the Green Bay Packers. Johnson Jr. combines range and fluidity with an aggressive hard-hitting attitude. Nick goes through his pros and cons in this brief video.

SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

Reminds me of Pinnock in a way.  Packers must be loaded in the secondary to let this guy go for nothing same as the Jets with Pinnock.  Hard to believe somebody would not offer a 7th or a draft pick swap.  I think when he gets his bearings here, we see him ahead of Belton."

Rich:  IMO the explanation is...

(a) Giants play Vikings;
(b) Giants do NOT play Packers in the regular season;
(c) video only shows Johnson's best plays; inconsistent; gunslinger approach; can be fooled; still learning when to take risks, when to play it safe;
(d) with what the pack is paying McKinney, they need plan now to go as cheap as possible in the rest of the secondary for the length of McKinney's contract.
(e) seems they're happy so far with their  multiple draft picks.

The move makes sense and I believe releasing Pinnock also made sense for the Jets at the time they did it.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
