Anyone sad that Barkley cost the Eagles the game?

I have no animosity towards Saquon (despite jesting about his habits at times). He was a strong leader for the Giants and an exciting player, if underwhelming for his draft position. He wanted to get paid--deservedly so--and found someone to do it. I hope he plays well for the Eagles...

And that the Eagles lose every game he plays in (and all others), Jalen Hurts is proven to not be worth the massive investment they made, and Sirianni stays as their coach for a very long time.

Additionally, if he catches that ball, the rest of your post doesn't happen. He effectively ends the game with a catch, even without getting a first down.

Yep very true.  And there were things obviously prior to those last few minutes that contributed mightily to the Eagles losing AT HOME on MONDAY NIGHT to the Atlanta Falcons.  Just a glorious, glorious set of mishaps from coaching all the way through execution on both sides of the ball.  It was all marvelous to watch unfold.  And, YES, I will be that Giants fan that even if we're 1-16 will still be taunting Eagles and Cowboys fans for their terrible losses as well.  It may just be the only enjoyment we'll be able to carve out of this season.

Still wishing Saquon the best personal success this year (and yes, I admit it- I DO care- been a fan for quite a long time of both the player and the man), hopefully amid many crushing defeats.

Barkley was offered 13 million a year from the giants and he rejected it and wound up getting a similar offer another team.

I have no sympathy towards the player. And yes I hope he fails. He plays for a division rival and snubbed the Giants and has taken shot at them.

This week summed up his career with the giants. Some nice runs with a crippling play that hurt our chances to win .

He's a losing player and hope he continues to cost the eagles games.

Barkley is a freak athlete and a class act. He hired poor management and ultimately it probably was the biggest issue with him not being a Giant today

Regardless of how much I hate the Eagles I am not rooting against him except when we play him.

Barkley like anyone who is relied on significantly in games has more opportunities to have plays go wrong. It was not the first time and will not be the last time Barkley missed a big opportunity at the end of the game.

I could careless about Barkley the Eagle, like any other Eagle screwing up in a big spot I smiled and laughed...

Any day the Eagles lose is a good day.

Let's please respect each other, no need for the aggressive tone. I simply wasnt sure if the post was in reference to what I posted (as I recognize it could've easily been mistaken) and I wanted to express there was no ill intent.

Then practice what you preach buddy! You jumped down my throat and accused me of targeting you with a no-quoted reply to this thread. And you have a history of doing this. Try paying a bit more attention.

My sincere apologies, I didn't intend to do that but you are right and I'm sorry.

Being as frank as I can, I don't have an emotional reaction either way to Saquon either succeeding or failing. On a base human level I wish him well. He's a good guy, and I think he's a good football player. As a Giants fan though I don't really care. It didn't bother/please me when he had three TDs in week one, and it didn't bother/please me when he fkd up in the MNF game. He's not a Giant anymore. He's just not important in any way at this point. I think we should focus on our team and our current players and their future prospects. Past players who cares.

Like any Giant who went to the Eagles for revenge,  <:-P  =))  8))  :D

Nothing personal against Barkley himself. He tried and failed like many have over the last decade and change of this dork age the Giants are in right now.

Ultimately though - Barkley will not be remembered for much. The Giants accomplished nothing of note while he was here, and he set no records of any importance here. If he's remembered for anything at all in this league, it will be as an Eagle, so like any other Eagle, #dieeaglesdie.

Thinking about this logically, here's what my feelings are towards the Barkley situation:

1. He was always saying he wanted to be a Giant for life.
2. Did the Giants poker a bit too high on this? Probably yes.
3. He went and hit the Market - and came back with a good offer for himself which the Giants RIGHTFULLY didn't want to match.
4. I still think that how the situation unfolded, the statement that he wanted to be a Giant for life is probably inaccurate and an empty promise in the end - because if he really wanted to be a Giant for life, he would've stayed for less money. Ofc, the statement "it's a Business" is always going to be the one said in the end when a deal doesn't get done. But the Giants had one need and direction (right or not is another story), Barkley another.
5. That Barkley chose the Eagles is a shame. He had multiple offers, and if he wanted, I am sure he could've gotten the same somewhere else. That one's on him.

Do I wish Barkley not to succeed? I have no feelings about this. He still played for us, has been the face of the Franchise for years, but in the end it went to the wrong side.

Do I wish the Eagles to be bad? Oh absolutely. But that's probably a different animal and there's a lot more history to that.
