In defense of Watson ... the injuries to the OL and the constant pressure, hits, hurries and sacks clearly unsettled him. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

That's fair, Ted; however, as someone who's watched Watson over the years, he has lost his zip.  He simply doesn't have the arm strength or running twitch from three years ago.

Watson had relatively significant injuries to his throwing shoulder last year. I have also heard whispers from people that his litany of legal troubles in conjunction with a completely guaranteed contract has killed his the desire and drive he had in Houston. Injuries don't make that easier.

Watson was one of the most natural looking QBs to me throughout his college career and it carried over into the NFL.  Was always impressed by how he transitioned to the NFL with what seemed like relative ease.

He hasn't ever looked that way to me since he arrived in Cleveland.  Yesterday was the 15th game he has played in since...2020.  I think between injuries and just not playing regularly he may never return to form.

And with his cap number over 70 million next year it doesn't look good for the Browns.

I am sure the rest of the owners couldn't be happier.  They were all pissed at Jimmy Haslam for giving Watson a 100% guaranteed contract (because they knew their own QBs would demand the same).

Thanks to Watson's crashed and burn, an agent would be laughed out of an NFL office if they demanded a fully guaranteed contract for their QB (or any other player for that matter) client.

His first throw of the game was simply outstanding.  Outside of that I didn't see much to write home about.
