How is it possible for us to be scheduled to play TWO games on a Thursday night and both games against the Cowturds? I know every team usually gets a T Thursday night gig, but for the Giants to have to play TWO games on a short week and both games against the same team. That is Bullsh* t, really.

I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

I would argue exactly the opposite.  For starters, given the power Jerry Jones has in the NFL, if playing on a Thursday were a disadvantage then the Cowboys wouldn't be playing 1 or more games per year on a Thursday.  They'd have something better.  But the Cowboys don't choose to change the NFL's proclivity to put the Cowboys on Thursday.  Why? Because it helps them.

A Thursday game helps the Thursday home team more than the Thursday away team.  Both teams have short weeks.  So that's a push.  But the away team loses proportionately more time due to  a fixed amount of travel during a short week.  Advantage Thursday home team.  Oh...and who gets a Thursday home game each year?

The losers, if you will, are the opponents in the following week who have to play the Thursday combatants who have 3 extra days rest.  That is, the Seahawks are at a disadvantage (relative to no Thursday game) because the Giants have extra rest going into that game.  Same goes for the Steelers who have to play the Cowboys who will have extra rest.

I think the reverse is true for Monday Night Football, especially for the visiting team.  The visiting team loses travel time and has a short week to prepare for their next opponent.  Much rather a Thursday away game and a Monday home game than the reverse.

The Mon night away game at the Steelers...let's complain about that.

"17-14 fellas.  One touchdown and we are world champions.  Believe it and it will happen!  17-14 is the final.  Let's go!"  Michael Strahan, with 2:39 remaining in SB42.

It used to be that every team had to play a TNF game but they scrapped that last year. The Jets will have another TNF game against Houston later in the year, for example. That said, there are effectively 16 TNF games in a season plus an additional two Thanksgiving games. Even if the old rule was still in place, there would be four teams that have to play multiple Thursday games and Dallas and Detroit would be two of those each year.

Thanks for pointing this out guys. I never realized any of it

Why is this such a big deal? I have plans all day on Sunday so this works out great for me. Dallas is struggling and we are improving.

And they are televised nationally, so I get to see them.

All Thursday games are on Amazon Video nationally and broadcast stations in local markets.  If you are an Amazon Prime member you can watch the game.

Were you correcting my use of the word televised?  Since I cut the cord I consider anything on mytelevision to have been televised.

No, TBH, not sure why I responded like I did.  I think I read your post as a question somehow (hadn't had all of my coffee yet) and was responding about how it would be televised.

Cutting the cord was one of the best things I have done over the last few years.
