Gentlemen.

Shake hands, say "Peace," no ill intention meant nor inferred, can we agree to drop this, be more mindful and empathetic in our posts going forward, and move on?

You're both stand-up gentlemen. How about this:

:Chestram:   :drunk:

Instead of this:
:coach: :angryfire:   :hit:

What do ya say?

Peace! (I hope!)

If by "how far are your long throws" you meant "How far is your definition of a long throw", then you're right that I misinterpreted it, although I think most if not all would interpret that comment the way I did.

I wonder why instead of simply correcting me on my first post, you decided to go on the diatribe about my "extreme animosity" towards Jones and the bizarre attribution of my screen name to that false claim of yours. It seems to me that that post is the one that caused our dialogue to devolve into something beneath a reasonable exchange or harmless disagreement.

I did not log on this AM with the intention of getting into a quarrel with anyone here. If you were offended by my remarks, I apologize for that. Having received that apology, perhaps you might now reconsider whether it was necessary for you to make the false accusations to me that you did (prior to my remark that offended you). Wouldn't a better alternative to that have simply been to correct my reasonable misunderstanding of your original post about long throws?

In any event, as I said above, I did not come here today (or any day for that matter) with any plan to tie it on with anyone here. That is not why I come to this board. I think that should be pretty clear to you and everyone here. I will admit that I have a tendency to push back when someone comes at me first though, particularly if it's in an unreasonable, disrespectful, or totally false manner.

Jeff,

Sorry for the delayed response.  This all occurred before my weekly 8-mile walk (then icing, lunch, shower).    As I said, it took me time to figure out what the misunderstanding was.  If I wanted to know how far a person could throw a football, I would have said-  "how far can you throw a football."   So the misunderstanding wasn't readily apparent to me.   It took the second reading to determine why you were laughing at my question (which I considered more than fair and reasonable).

So, I retract what I said about you, as it was based on the idea that you were laughing/mocking me for asking a reasonable question about what one considers a long pass (for the record, I tend to go with the standard NFL definition of short being up to 10 yards, intermediate being 10 to 20 yards, and over 20 is considered a long pass).

So I apologize if you were troubled by my comments.

Rich,

I appreciate the above, but no apology necessary as I clearly could have handled this whole thing better myself despite the misunderstanding.

Already forgotten, and all good.

Quote from: MightyGiants on September 28, 2024, 08:25:15 AMThe throws are 40 yards or better in the air.  How far are your long throws?

Buddy, I'm not getting paid a ludicrous amount of money for being an NFL QB.  I watch a lot of football, those are not over the top throws.  They're good throws, intermediate at the pro level.  He never scared defenses deep.
