In fact, their defense is bad. The Giants actually should have scored many more points than they did against such a bad defense. It took a blocked field goal to win the game. But the team played well and dominated.

To be fair, Seattle was missing 4 starters yesterday and 2 of their primary backup.  Their entire starting LB corps and top back up were all gone by the second half, as well as thier starting NT and backup LE.  In total, they only had 5 of 11 original starters.

BTW, did anyone notice that Big Cat William and Jonathan Hankins were the starting DTs?  I see Williams hasn't changed...his name was never called...we fleeced the Seahawks :)

In spite of everyone's inputs here, the Hawks were spotted a 7-0 lead for all their purported issues listed above.

In spite of all that, the Giants still completely dominated the first half, maintained control in the third and held on to win.

This was pegged a loss by the majority of us before kickoff and save for the few utterly faithful who believed they could, the rest of us are full of 🐶 poop if we think they were going to win this game yesterday and, especially so, after that 102 yard fumble return.

Give this damn team some credit on their own merit of playing together as a united front who fought for 60 minutes and never quit.

How sweet it was to see them take a knee to end the game. It's the ultimate sign. Enjoy the win today without apologizing for it!!! They're not perfect. They're never going to be perfect. They play the team on the date they're supposed to play them, regardless whether they're healthy or not.

In the end, it's a well-deserved win. Whether they're close or not, who knows? It's the Bengals next for a once in an eight year matchup at the Sardine Can next. The unfamiliarity between the two teams should make the game even more exciting.

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

Quote from: katkavage on October 07, 2024, 09:44:43 AMI'm not taking anything away from the Giants offense and how it produced, but let's be real: that was a bad defense out there for Seattle. I wouldn't say Tracy was a handicap the way he played. He was a  big upgrade over Singletary whether planned or not. The win in a hostile environment was impressive but you can still be objective about what was obvious.

They are middle of the pack in scoring defense an top 10 in yardage.  And the Giants played them in their house.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

It seems like some folks aren't happy unless they are unhappy.

Great post! I was starting to think we had forgotten how to be happy after a Giants' game.

There are still a few we need to work on.

Some fans are like the coaches mentality - enjoy it for the night but then it's critique mode, get better, and on to next week. That's not a bad thing nor is it taking anything away from the win

Trench: A great point. IMO there's good news & bad news on every play for every player in every game. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
